Original Battle Droid Voices for FotR

Description

This is my second ever mod!
I'm new to modding EAW. I've modded Bethesda games and Mount & Blade before. It started with wanting Temuera to voice the Clone Troopers, now it continues with wanting the droids to have their old voice.

Here is a link to my Temuera Morrison Clones Mod:
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3434977995
Link to Tem Clones + OG Droids MERGED:
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3466466881

---------------------------------------
What does this mod do exactly?
It changes the voices of a number of droid units to be that of the steel-hearted killer robot voice Star Wars fans knew before the Dave Filoni Clone Wars show. This provides units that sound less cute, goofy and whiney using voicelines from the movies, OG Battlefront 1 + 2, Episode 3 video game, Republic Commando and Star Wars Demolition! (Yes I went that far back, I loved that game)

Following units are effected:
+ B1 Battle Droids (Using movie, Battlefront, Ep3, Republic Commando and Demolition Voices)
+ J-1 Proton Cannon
+ AAT
+ STAP
+ MTT
+ B2 Super Battle Droids (using Republic Commando B2 Voice)
+ BX Commando Droids (using Republic Commando B1 Voice)

Maybe more units if they use the same voicelines.

Following units are not effected:
- Space units
- Hailfire, Spider Droids, Crab Droids and a couple other CIS units with unique voices.
- Haven't played the story in it's entirety yet, but if there are any droids in the cutscenes, I doubt this changes them.

---------------------------------------
Installation Instructions:
Step 1: Subscribe to both this mod and FotR.
Find FotR here: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1976399102

Step 2: Right Click the game in your Steam Library and look for the Launch Properties box.

Step 3: Copy + Paste this into the box:
STEAMMOD=3437900001 STEAMMOD=1976399102

If you're using my Temuera Morrison Clones mod, it's:
STEAMMOD=3434977995 STEAMMOD=3437900001 STEAMMOD=1976399102

If you're using General Tantor's Bodies Stay mod, which I recommend, it's:
STEAMMOD=2783933725 STEAMMOD=3437900001 STEAMMOD=1976399102

If you're using Tem Clones + Bodies Stay mods, it's:
STEAMMOD=2783933725 STEAMMOD=3434977995 STEAMMOD=3437900001 STEAMMOD=1976399102

Step 4: Launch the game, play some and come back here whenever you get the time and let me know what you think.

---------------------------------------
Compatibility:
= Future versions of FotR might need an update.
= Any mod that changes the file structure or overwrites droid unit files in the Data\Audio\Ground folders is going to conflict with this mod and/or potentially stop it from working completely.

---------------------------------------
Known Issues:
- The fault within: I'm inexperienced and quickly lose interest in things that aren't fun (like modding).
- There's a few lines that could be louder/quieter. I think I know which ones.

---------------------------------------
Potential Future project ideas:
- Fixing those known issues
- I could still add Temuera space units in my other mod too.
- Heroes/villains packs if I really wanted.
- Or do this for Thrawn's Revenge units now I now how.

But I'm not a mod creator. I want to play the game!
I'm currently going through all the FotR and Thrawn's Revenge campaigns in order.
So unless I really feel the need to change the game again as I play it over the next few weeks, don't be waiting on any of it. Feel free to do it yourself.

---------------------------------------
So how did I put this together?
I learned how to make these sound replacer packs by noodling around in the files after a mod I liked didn't work. I decided to recreate that mod and expand it to new units by gathering and slicing up Youtube clips.
This process is so boring I wish I had a droid to do it for me.

I learned how to upload EAW mods to the Steam Workshop by following User 'General Tantor' 's guide:
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2785920783

---------------------------------------
Credits, but not the ones you spend:
Peter Serafinowicz and Tom Sylla - Voice of the Episode 1 Battle Droids
Andre Sogliuzzo - Voice of the Clone Wars 2003 Battle Droids
Clint Young - Voice of the Republic Commando Battle Droids
Chris Cox - Voice of the Battlefront Battle Droids
Whoever did the voices for Star Wars Demolition and Episode 3 Games.

Literally a hero.

Very good. TCW made them way too goofy.

Sure, I can do that and link it here when I'm done. Should only take me 10 minutes.

Update on Awakening and future updates to my Droid and Temuera mods:
- I got the Battlefront 3 files downloaded, but haven't listened to them yet.
- Likewise, I started going thru Awakening's files to isolate the clone and droid units for replacing, but I got really bored of sifting thru folders for hours and stopped and since then life's just got busy, as it does. Hardly played any games this week.

So no ETA on those projects, but I'll still be around in case Fall of the Republic gets updated and for some reason these mods stop working :steamthumbsup: just make noise in the comments about it and I'll see what my limited modding knowledge can do

Also want to say if anyone wants the audio files I used in my mods, I can share them. Probably save you some hours gathering them yourself and it's not like I own any of it. Just shoot me a message. :coolvanguard:

Would it be possible to merge the Clone Voice mod with the Droid Voice mod?
