B42 Detailed Player Body Model - Female [Redux]

Description
A continuation of the work I was doing here is available below

Maintaining this mod primarily for the folks who already have it, if you're new here I recommend grabbing the newer version above. I will still update and support this mod should any errors or bugs happen as B42 develops but all further development has shifted to Tomb's Player Body Overhaul.

This is a B42 port and significant update of the B41 Detailed Player Model - Female by X Æ A-XII, with their blessing. Their update of this will likely come when B42 is stable. Kudos to them for their hard work on the original mod. As their mod is still perfectly functional and working for B41, I have no plans to make this mod compatible with B41 at this time.

Installation instructions:
The mod package contains 4 mod files. The [Redux] body itself and 3 options for the textures should you want to use them. Choose one of these, the differences are listed below.

[SFW] -
Like vanilla zomboid, complete with white underwear.

[NSFW] -
This version removes the default white underwear and includes nudity.

[DOLL] -
This version removes the default white underwear for the nude look but is doll-ified with no explicit nudity.

Be sure to enable the mod files on both the main menu and also in the save file if you're adding this to an existing save, then restart project zomboid. The mod will not take effect without a restart of the game due to how it loads the models.

The body can be used standalone with the Vanilla zomboid textures if you prefer those, as pictured in the mod thumbnail. You can also pair it with your choice of modded texture and it should work just fine (Mystic's textures pictured as an example) but your mileage may vary.

Fixes and adjustments:
I've spent time polishing the original model to fix some issues that were present while also making some of my own adjustments to taste. The body shape has been pushed as far as it can go while remaining within the bounds of vanilla clothing such as jeans, jackets etc. If modded clothes don't clip with vanilla, they shouldn't clip with this. Notable exceptions would be modded clothing that is extremely figure hugging to the low poly vanilla body. I am not taking requests to make the boobs or the ass bigger because it's not even possible without causing clipping issues.

  • Enhanced the physique with some extra curves in the right places, snatched waist, rounded hips, bigger butt etc. More athletic feeling overall.
  • Adjusted shoulders to minimise the the "wide shoulder" effect.
  • Adjusted the UV's of the body to reduce distortion of textures wherever possible. Text on shirts etc will now display as intended with minimised warping.
  • Adjusted the hands to match the vanilla hand positions and rigging, they now bend and move like vanilla.
  • Fixed the hand UV's to match vanilla 1:1. Glove textures will now display correctly with no distortion.
  • Made the feet slightly bigger. Not as big as vanilla but also not so small that they look weird without modded shoes on.
  • Adjusted the head and face shape + UV's. The eyeline is slightly raised to sit more or less correct at the height of B42 glasses and other face ornaments. UV's are centrally aligned and match more closely the vanilla female body UV's.
  • Corrected the skirt mesh + skinning to match vanilla standards and vanilla UV layout, now connects to the legs with no visible seam or gaps.

If you're feeling extra generous
I took every care to make sure there were no errors and in my testing have encountered no issues, but please report any errors in the pinned discussion thread. Safe to use with existing saves etc, but you should always make backups!

@Ketamine Make sure you restart after loading. If you see the model in the regular singleplayer character customisation screen and its working there it should persist everywhere until you turn it off

@Silentghost - Yes this mod changes all female humanoid models
Silentghost 4 Jun @ 6:51am
i am looking for a body that ONLY changes player model and not zombie model for performance reasons. does this change zombie models?
ANN 3 Jun @ 9:31am
@Tomb no it doesnt, im not sure how the file structure works in pz but my guess is that your mod simply overwrites the body shapes (<84kg) coming from dynamic body, and birget bodies for dynamic body mod as long as its loaded last.
it works perfectly fine also with clothes and textures for all the body shapes coming from spongie's character customization.
perhaps you can take a look youself and add that to the mod description, its kinda neat imo
Tomb  [author] 3 Jun @ 3:54am
@ANN- It will, but it'll most likely revert to the body that dynamic body shapes uses as soon as the size changes.
ANN 3 Jun @ 12:52am
for anyone who's wondering, this works with dynamic body shapes, just as it is, as long as loaded after it

@NOTVERYLEAN -iwnl- No need to apologise. If you're looking for a B41 compatible mod, check the links at the top of the description either to the new mod which works in 41 also, or X Æ A-XII's original mod which was made for 41.
