More Simulation Speed Options 2

Description
A replacement for the original More Simulation Speed Options mod .

It allows you to increase the simulation speed to up to 9x (up to 3x in vanilla), which is useful for starting new cities or for people who use Speedslider V2 / Play It! to slow down the base simulation speed for any reason (mine would be realism so I have it set to exactly 45.92%).

Reasoning behind replacing the original:
  • With the original mod, the functionality of reducing the simulation speed by right-clicking on the button is broken.
  • Having the x6 and x9 in bright red and the others untouched is not granular enough. This version implements a gradient from green to red for each simulation speed.
  • ::TECHNICAL:: the original version added an incredible amount of both CPU and RAM overhead for its size (for C#/Unity programmers: it uses REFLECTION... IN UPDATE()!!!!1!!!!!11! - and neither is required). As a performance expert I couldn't live with that. This continuation adds literally Z-E-R-O frame-to-frame CPU overhead and saves multiple kilobytes of RAM when compared to the original.

This doesn't work—it causes all the menus to appear stretched out. (missing sections of the menu.)

Explanation: Click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner. You'll notice that some of the menu buttons look slightly stretched. Now, click on "Quit," and you'll see the issue more clearly—buttons like "To Main Menu," "To Desktop," and "Cancel" appear significantly stretched out, making the interface look weird.

I test it with Real Time and Ultimate Eyecandy together. It seems stable at least.

Is it compatible with Real Time? Since it doesn't touch base simulation speed, I reckon it is.

Hey sorry I was a bit wrong . The mod works fine now! Anyway it seems the error was with another mode called Bull Doze It! So yeah great mods thanks for making it! A must have if you have realtime installed too.

@Dimensional One
Subbed to my own mod and deleted my local version to see if it might be a loading order issue - everythings fine. And I'm playing with 122 mods, some of which heavily modify the UI like UI Resolution 1.3. It might be due to old, depracated mods to which there is a better alternative (i know many people still use Daylight Classic :D). My mod collection was built up/is being built up for no longer than a month and I made sure to have the best mod available for the funtionality I was looking for. Either way, without seeing a log file I cannot tell. So PLEASE, if anyone experiences an issue, upload it and attach a link to the comment.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) your educated guesses don't help. i do run the font manager and tried turning it off, to reproduce the issue. SpeedSlider V2 touches Unity Engine code, slowing down the entire game, this mod only touches Colossal Order game code, and config files don't do anything unless some mod reads them.

I will add one thing that might help... I went into my colossal order folders to delete any leftover config files after unsubbing to this and noticed the SPEEDSLIDER config file from way back that I hadn't deleted... MAYBE see if you have any config files from previous or other simulation altering mods and get rid of them as well.
Maybe that causes some kind of conflict. As this doesn't seem to slow the speed down I won't be subbing again, but hope it works for others as they need it to.

So this mod didn't have an option to slow the speed down as I thought it would... And there may be something wrong with it as GERMANYCHARIZARD suggested. I downloaded the mod without doing anything else to the game, and my clock and fps mods both moved, the tmpe and move it mods were both misplaced and even the cities skylines radio channel button had moved. lol

So there is something that needs to be looked into with that.

I thought maybe he had the custom font option in FPS booster turned on to cause that so I was gonna suggest it to him, but since I know I don't that cannot be the culprit this time. That option is typically responsible for glitchy things like this.

@TheGermanyCharizard Nope, not this mod. It only replaces the original speed button an puts it at the exact same spot with the exavt same size.

Hey so I got a littel bug. The Ui is a bit wird. Some icons have wierd positn. One of them even block's the nummber that show's how many people they are in your city.
