I'm sure people have their reasons but fucking christ this has to be the dumbest mechanic in any game that uses it. I guess it's trying to simulate the heat of battle where you don't have time to put your mag back in your pocket and you just simply discard it but at the same time, why would you discard perfectly good ammo, especially in a survival situation? It would be nice to have a system like swat 4 where reloading mid mag just puts it back into your inventory.

@pringles™ no, they'd pick them up afterwards, when the horde is dead.

In Helldivers 2, switching a half empty mag will not bring the ammo back into your reserve so it's technically realistic. It's just that even in that game, you cannot pick the remaining ammunition in that thrown magazine back, same to Left 4 Dead 2.

This is a great mod but I do have to say that if you switch items while reloading, the ammo is placed in reserves. This happens quite a bit on accident, and might become tempting to abuse
