Description
This mod adds randomly generated dungeons, new microdungeons and custom creatures to Starbound.

THIS MOD ALTERS YOUR UNIVERSE PERMANENTLY

This mod patches the terrestrial_worlds file with new dungeons. These dungeons I believe are either assigned to planets through star generation in the star map or system generation when player enters a star system for the first time. If you uninstall this mod mid game you will not be able to enter planets that have been assigned with SDP dungeons. If this happens and you do not have previous backups of your files simply fly your ship into another system far away from where you used the mod.


The user should be aware that despite being a dungeon mod this mod is fairly comprehensive and can alter the vanilla experience significantly. It adds things such as minibosses, new enemies and traps to the underground and the surface. End-game ores can sometimes be found from geodes in the core, and some of the enemies you encounter in the deep may have the ability to destroy terrain. These mobs do not spawn randomly, they are spawned through microdungeons and are built with custom parameters which makes them technically vanilla. This mod does not add new assets, it only uses what already exists in the game.

Starbound has a lot of fantastic content that is either disabled or only appears in missions. I have made extensive use of this content in order to reintroduce most of it back to the main gameplay loop.

Some of these dungeons are defined as microdungeons in the games files. This allows them to spawn in specific biomes and to bypass the hard dungeon limit. The drawback for doing this is that surface tiles for these dungeons are not allowed and dungeon generation is more likely to fail because something underground blocked it from growing. Microdungeon connectors are also not allowed to generate into unloaded chunks which means that these dungeons will always lean towards the player.


There is a bug in Starbound that when the player kills either giftmonster or giftmonstersmall it causes the game to crash. This is because giftMonsterBoxTreasure and smallGiftMonsterBoxTreasure treasure pools have been removed from the game. This mod adds the holiday crafting bench back to the game through the workshop dungeon. Gift monsters can be spawned in the game by crafting unusual gifts from the holiday crafting bench. I strongly recommend not to craft them at all.



THE MOD:

There are a total of 19 new dungeons in this mod. These dungeons are assembled with small parts that are allowed to connect to each other freely. I've made these parts so that they can interact with one another in emergent ways, such as lasers being shot from the wall or boulders falling from the roof. Dungeon generation is often unpredictable and nonsensical, hallways that lead nowhere and traps that sometimes do nothing (or too much). These dungeons can be sprawling or disappointingly small.

while there are 19 dungeons total some of them have different variations, some of which have to ability to transition to each other. The monster cave for example can change from a mine into a spider cave and vice versa.

Two of the dungeons spawn in space, the other being the Battle Arena which is generated with a total of 171 different parts. I based this one off the vanilla arena but I wanted it to be always accessible and completely randomized with different kinds of enemy and arena layouts.

Can you make this mod capatible with T7-T10 mod? The one that adds like 19 Biomes maybe conflicting with this Mod! :/

Thank you for the mini bosses. Before this I was just bored with all the mobs, this has made the game much more interesting.

@Black_Hound730 It won't crash the game, the only way that could happen if I removed a dungeon and you visited a planet where that dungeon was supposed to be in. Even then the game simply wouldn't allow you to land on the planet. This would only happen on planets that you generated on your star map, not the entire universe.

Oh thats perfect, but if i use the version without the minibosses does it gonna crash the game? like i visited a couple planets and some structures are already generated so...
