Weather Moodles

Description
I'll update when B42 stable version is released.

Adds moodles to indicate current weather conditions.
Currently has moodles for Cloud, Rain, Snow, Wind, Fog, Sun, Moon, Storm, Blizzard, Tropical Storm and Seasons.

The moodles are purely visual. They do not provide any (de)buffs.
The good/bad color settings are player preference.

Why this mod?
To further immerse myself in the game, I've always wanted to be able to see the sky.
Or, generally, have more information so I can properly visualize my surroundings.
This mod will help with that by indicating what is currently happening above our heads.

How does it work?
It reads the weather related variables from the game and conveys that data through moodles.
To create the moodles with ease, I used the MoodleFramework mod, so it's required.
Also, while not required, ModOptions can be used to toggle certain moodles on/off or their good/bad status.
The moodles can be toggled on/off using the default "Right Control" key. (Can be changed using ModOptions.)

To do
(maybe...)
  • Update icons so they are better visible against the moodle background
  • Add sandbox settings
(said to be better for dedicated servers)
  • Make it split screen compatible
(Tchernobill: MoodleFramework (v1.10) can now be split screen compatible.
    Use MF.getMoodle(*,playerNum) instead of MF.getMoodle(*))
  • Unique moodles for combinations of weather conditions
(partly done. currently supporting built-in extreme weather events)
  • A new weather event
(not a built-in event moodle, but something custom)
  • Seperate Blizzard into 2 moodles
(The game has a single Blizzard event whether it's snowing or raining)
(But Rain Blizzard should not exist)
(Maybe the game never triggers Blizzard during rainy seasons, idk)
  • Buff/Nerf stats based on weather conditions
(would be optional as well as customizable)
  • Sun/Moon light strength moodle
  • Descriptions(flavor text or extra info) for moodles
(pull data from weather broadcast maybe?)

Notes
  • Conflicts with:
    • Better Food (The moodles will overlap(display on top of each other))
    • Big Moodles (Something about the moodles' position?)
  • Safe to add/remove mid-save.
  • Works in multiplayer.
  • Feedback/Suggestions are welcome.

I had no previous modding experience with anything.
The initial release took 2 days to make. It was fun.

I think its most likely a problem within the base game. I got the Frozen Winter mod which makes winters much colder, but its not changing summer. In my game its mid september right now and I got the early summer moodle 2 ingame days ago, then a day later the winter moodle and today its autumn. The only change I have seen is temperature wise. I am not a modder and do not have a clue about modding in general but I thought it was worth reporting. Other then that your mod works fine for me and it doesn´t really bother me. Its kinda funny. You alway wonder which season you will be in today. :)

As for B42, currently I'm not playing the game. I'll update when B42 is fully released.

@Maze - This mod sets the season icon and season progression by calling the `getSeasonName()` and `getSeasonProgression()` functions which are part of the base game.
So, either the mods you mentioned are modifying these base game functions to achieve what they do, or something is wrong with the base game.

The seasons moodle for B41 doesn´t work correctly. The icon is changing based on temperature, not on months as it should be. If you have mods running that change winter or summer temperatures the moodle is constantly changing between summer, autumn and winter. Just wanted to let you know.

B42?

Ok, so, I only use Weather Moodles with Definitive Zombies so I don't always use it. And it's been awhile. But in my new game here, I am not getting any weather moodles displayed (yes, Mod Options are set correctly). I remember this happening before and that there was some ingame trick to getting them to appear. Just some weird little quirk. But it's been so long I can't remember what that was.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? xD
