Runaurufu's Ground Water

Description
Water flows not just where you see it but also where it is hidden from the eye.
Bodies of water sips into dirt and travel underground to lower areas where they flow out.

Features
  • Water bodies sips into ground and spread it to surrounding areas
  • Accumulated ground water sips out
  • Lower areas "draw" water from surroundings
  • Rain contributes to water level

Mod can be turned on/off at will. It does not alter anything from vanilla game (only current water level is affected).

First launch warning
Loading save which was done without this mod or starting new map will initialize ground water levels to some "sane" values.
This will prevent mass drought but may also cause floods near steep or lower areas.

Dependencies

MOD compatibility
  • Harmony using mods

Due to using Harmony any mod using Harmony binding to following methods may be incompatibile:
    • WaterSimulation.SimulateWater

Recommended mods
  • Climate Control
Allows you to select weather preset based on real life cities.

Map compatibility
Ground Water works for all maps... however in some cases it may cause unexpected mass floods - use with caution on existing cities.

Playing a low-lying map with a map-spanning river. Switched this on, river dried up in the middle. Still "wet" at each end. Great fun. Its making me look at parts of the game I'v pretty much ignored until now.
