'83 AM General M923

Description
M923 is using the absolutely massive M939 chassis, so it's big, very big. Hillbilly got its name for the oxidised steel plates that were used to up armor it into a fortress on wheels. 3 seats in the front, 3 in the back. Back seat passengers can open their gunports to attack zeds, but because of their height zeds will not be able to get them. This part is still experimental and will see some improvements in the future, with aiming and animations in general.

Hillbilly is a gun truck first, so it is not meant for huge hauls since it has only 4 wheels in the back and the armor alone is heavy and is punishing the suspensions. Use Deuce for that. Use this one for ramming the hell out of traffic and zeds while clearing big zones. It sure can take the damage with the hillbilly bullbar.

Main features:
  • Fully animated hood, tailgate, doors and windows
  • Visible interior and character (with improved exit/enter/aim animations)
  • All parts have 3d objects you can remove and place in the world
  • Extra parts to find in the world to make the vehicle truly yours (bullbars, armor plates, covers)
  • Run-flat Tires - They will run even when damaged, but with reduced friction
  • Many texture variations
  • Detachable Spare tire, cab cover, flatbed armor, mudflaps etc
  • Armor plates for windows and bumper protection

  • B41.78+ Single Player / Multiplayer Compatible
  • You can use it in your current save game, just enable the mod in the load menu
  • It can tow and be towed
  • Not recolorable

Things to come:
  • Soft top cab cover
  • Better exit/enter and shooting animations
  • Better shaders for part models so we can have better blood and damage on them

If you can't wait to find this mod in your game and want to test it right away, use bikinitools to spawn it, hide the items that your character holds while in vehicle, or for all other good stuff that mod has, go get it!

Was using this mod within a mp save, when I had to eventually had to repair the runflat tires, I realize that this mod overrides damnlib and wondered why the tire repair kits didn't show up as a option, tried to set it to be highest on the mod load order and went into the notepad as well to move the mod id to the front as well, should mention this was done in the middle of the save as well, any solutions to this?

The workaround for this issue was to drive no faster than 45 mph and to pump the brakes. Probably would be a pain to program this catastrophic issue in, but would also be pretty on brand (and funny) for unaware survivors to die because they're driving around at high speeds and slam the brakes, causing the truck to pull an epic gamer move
Kartoffel 30 Mar @ 12:12pm
Possible feature if you want people to suffer, but there's a flaw with the M939 series where slamming the brakes at high speeds could cause a catastrophic series of events where the brakes would lock, the engine would stall, the power steering would be lost, and the steering could potentially get jerked to one side or the other, potentially causing the truck to flip. Since the game takes place in 1993, this issue would technically be present on all M939s since it wasn't fixed until 1999 when a military work order was issued that required trucks to be retrofitted with ABS, which solved the issue.
