Gigastructural Engineering (Not updated)

The 'Lite' version of All These Worlds focuses on maximum compatibility, it adds a good number of uninhabitable planets which spawn randomly during galaxy generation, while refraining from adding new habitable planets (which may change in the future), instead it renames vanilla habitables and gives them new textures as well as environment portraits.

The mod combines the surface environment art-work from Planetary Diversity, with old textures from New Worlds as well as new which have been made during the last couple of years with support from my Patreons.
Habitable worlds also start with two planetary modifiers, one representing Atmosphere quality, another representing Biosphere diversity. Each world class has between 2 to 3 biosphere levels, resulting in different environment portraits and bonuses/penalties from the modifiers, so although there are only 9 regular habitable planet classes, your galaxy will seem to have a lot more. The guaranteed neighbours for instances, will be the same planet class as your homeworld, but may have different environments.

Mars uses the custom environment from Planetary Diversity, as well as terraform alternatives. The enlarged planet portraits from Planetary Diversity are also used. The Aquatic trait has been slightly modified, species with this trait will move automatically to an underwater environment after colonizing one of the 3 oceanic worlds, referred in the mod as Pelagic, so they will receive habitability bonuses on all 3, even though one has a dry climate and another a frozen, while on the other hand penalties will be greater in worlds with no oceans.

This mod makes big changes to planet class names, so it is important for me to explain the logic.

For uninhabitable worlds, you will find many share the same name, and you will only spot the differences by looking at the Class designation (where the climate tag is in the habitable ones).

Gas giants have several different classes, some are considered Hot Giants and spawn closer to the star, one in a more temperate location, and others farther away. There's even a Super giant class which usually replaces the larger gas giants with no moons.

Ice giants are also seen with different classes.

Telluric worlds are the more common rocky uninhabitable planets, ranging between volcanic to frozen classes.

Toxic worlds are also rocky planets, but with denser atmospheres, and range between hothouses and methane classes.

Finally there are the exotic classes, which are the exception and use unique names, like the Molten and Chthonian.

For habitable worlds, the main goal was to get rid of the single-biome style naming, and it took me a good deal of time to come up with a new naming system using anglicized greek words to make them sound from scientific.

The vanilla differentiation between the 3 climates is still used, now together with a lithospheric differentiation. I have defined 3 types of worlds, the more Earth-like, what you called the continental, defined by having multiple oceans and continents, uses the suffix -genian (inspired by the Cryogenian period as an example, genian means genesis or birth). Oceanic worlds, which may be partially frozen or evaporated, use the suffix -pelagic (from archipelago, meaning chief sea). Finally worlds with large in-land seas instead of oceans, use the suffix -thalassic (meaning related to smaller bodies of water, as seas and gulfs).

Then the suffixes are combined with words that describe a main planet feature, Thermo is used for hotter climates, Cryo for colder, Chloro for chlorophyll-based flora variety, Tropico for the dominant climate. So the planet class name remains proper for all the possible variants.

A couple of practical examples: The Continental was replaced with Chlorogenian, a planet rich with a chlorophyll-based biosphere, which can be sparse, diverse, or dense (meaning you may find chlorogenian worlds with drier environments, temperate diverse, or boreal forests); The Tropical was replaced with the Tropicothalassic, a planet with a mostly tropical or sub-tropical climate where different levels of rainfall determine whether it gets a sparse, diverse, or dense biosphere.

For the past few years I have been working on the main All These Worlds mod, which is a heavier overhaul and includes plenty of more features, but one of the biggest issues I have with it is adapting vanilla events to work with my overhaul, not to mention incompatibilities with other mods that will require patching. So I've decided to take a few weeks away from the main one, to work on something simpler, which might also be a better option for those of you who prefer a more vanilla-like experience.

I may make future updates to the Lite version, maybe even add new content, but I should get back to work on the big one, so that will be my priority.

I invite you to visit my Patreon[www.patreon.com] page where I post info about the main mod, most of the content is open and not behind a pay-wall.

All surface environment portraits as well as a few bits of code relating to the enlarged view are from Gatekeeper's Planetary Diversity and used with permission, even though each of us works on his own mod we have been sharing ideas and brain-storming as well as support each other for years!

All planet textures (including the uninhabitable orbital renders) except vanilla and the Martian variants from PD are original works by Chris Adamek, author of the Starlight Universe book series which you can find on Amazon and his own website here:
https://www.starlight-universe.net

This project would not be possible without either of them.

Could take some time though, and from what I've been hearing Paradox has some fixing and tweaking to do on this new version.

You're welcome! :)
I've started on the new Lite, thankfully I currently have some time available. This time my goal is to make the new Lite expandable, it will have more content than the old Lite, but less features than ATW 2, and later I should add other features as add-on mods, like the custom star system templates and possibly a modified version of the dynamic habitability.

Thank you alot for this mod, it was the number one on my list. I'm looking forward to the one you're cookiing for 4.0. I might wait for it (Lite or ATW2) to be ready before trying Biogenesis.

I will not be updating this mod to Stellaris 4, it will remain available for 3.14.
Hopefully I will be working on a new version of Lite for 4.0, changing vanilla style and art without changing mechanics, with possible add-ons later.

Glad people are still enjoying it! :)

I'm actually planning on doing a new version of Lite, keep the compatibility, even improve it, and add more alternatives to the 9 vanilla habitable classes, besides the uninhabitable.

Thank you a lot for maintaining your mod. I'm starting a new run after a while and it's a real pleasure to use it. Great Compatibilty, well thought, well made.

Thank you very much!!!

Try now.
If you don't see the enlarged planet pictures, use Planetary Diversity's Planet View mod, or as an alternative the UI Overhaul Dynamic mod.
