TWINDEXX is a brand new double trains previously manufactured by Bombardier (now Alstom) for Swiss Federal Railways. They are also known as 'FV-Dosto' in Switzerland. There are 3 version of this train built on same mainframe with minor differences in terms of lenght and coach configuration.

RaBDe 502 - is long distance Intercity version, with 8 cars as default configuration. One set contains 1st class end car, family zone end car, restaurant coach in the middle and have the speed of 200kmph. These sets can also be coupled with another RaBDe 502 on demand. They are currently in use on almost all mainlines of Switzerland; from Geneva to St-Gallen or Zurich to Ticino, RaBDe 502 has become a common sight.

For shorter distance RaBe version is made; it is made with 2 basic configuration, 8 cars with no family nor restaurant coach for higher capacity, and 4 car version for Regional/RegioExpress use. These versions have 160kmph speed.

This asset was initially made back in 2016, it was one of the reasons why I started modeling for Cities: Skylines. After all these years I finally made a new version. This time, I also got the technical help of Alstom Switzerland to nail the accuracy of the model.

Technical Details
  • TEXTURE SHARED: All trailers AND other versions of TWINDEXX share materials and textures, to optimize the performance and RAM/GPU load.
  • ADDITIVE SHADER: Forward and Reverse headlights based on direction.
  • 200kmph speed.
  • 86 passengers per car.
  • Custom and optimized LOD
  • Detailed textures
  • Automatic pantographs: Pantographs lift or retract based on direction.

Recommended Mods
  • Improved Public Transport 2: To assign it to custom train lines: name begins with 'SBB TWINDEXX'
  • Additive Shader: For functional headlights.

@REVO, thanks for your reply. Again: Really appreciate your efforts here. As per the downvoters and haters, I hope they all forget to lube up before experiencing entry.

There's a separate collection made for USA electric rolling stock compatible with R2 USA:

Keep in mind this is for electric trains only due to the change of pantograph wire and making it 1:1 Northeast Corridor standard. All diesel trains are compatible with R2 USA, as they have no relevance to the wire

@REVO Your entire Railway 2 release is just..Jawdropping! Thank you so much for your contribution to the workshop. I was curious if you had any American train asset recommendations that work well with your collection?
