Description
Update 10/22/14 - As the first of my ships to impliment several new design features, the Corax represented a new generation for my fleet. As such, I have finally given it a long overdue update to the newer paint scheme and modded consoles to bring its aesthetics up to date with the newer ships.

Update 5/19/14 - Added a few engines to increase Acceleration from 1.93 to 2.78 m/s^2. 6 small reactors were also added as emergency power

Mass: 7.746mil kg
Acceleration: 2.78 m/s^2
Weapons: 13 Gatling Guns, 19 Missile Launchers, 16 Anti-Missile System, 12 rocket launchers
Ammunition: 8 large containers

The Corax was a difficult ship to class, as it borders on being a battlecruiser. However, due to its size and weight, it was eventually decided that the Corax would be designated as a Cruiser. The Corax therefore represents a new, economical trend for Phoenix Shipyards, by placing the firepower of a battlecruiser into a much more convenient package, while still retaining a comfortable interior. As a next generation cruiser, the Corax also boasts a state-of-the-art interior, and is host to new experimental AMS technology. 8 turrets on either side are charged with protecting the Corax's ammunition supply from incoming fire, allowing it to forgo some heavy armor in favor of added manueverability.

How do you get into the ship?

Yeah I figured it had something to do with the limitations of the current game version. I imagine in later updates, the compoments will become a bit more lenient and obviously more OF them will be available as time progresses. :P

thats mainly due to the aesthetics that come into play when you are trying to make something that looks like it makes sense. the turrets have terrible profiles and dont do well on sleek shapes, so i try to keep them off of it. usually i compensate with armor in those areas, whereas you will find more turrets in the weaker areas

The only issue I see with 90% of the Phoenix ship designs is that the weapon placement is a little odd.

As in, you either have to come at the opposing vessel with either your ventral or dorsal sections slightly angled whichever way to maximize the weapon groupings. If you were to possibly place the weapons on a slightly more staggered level or placing them on a more even basis along the hull, I could see these designs working out very well.

That is a very beautiful design and an interesting ship, I love it and I wish I was captain of one in real-life.
