Description

Metropolis, DE

Metropolis Harbor is situated in the State of Delaware where the Leipsic River empties into on Delaware Bay. The area was first surveyed by John Cabot in 1497 and was considered for settlement by Peter Minuit in 1638 with the Swedish South Company, instead John Cabot went on to settle Fort Christina, now Wilmington. In 1644 the area passed into Britsh control. Following the American War of Independence the area remained uninhabited due to the growth of Philadelphia to the north and Washington DC and Baltimore to the south. The area remained uninhabited until the Great Recession of 2008 when it was opened for development. The environmental impact studies took ten years to complete and the harbor was noted to have extensive wind resources with which to run a city on renewable energy. America is now poised to build back better in the aftermath of the Covid-19 epidemnic and is ready for a new green city on America's eastern seaboard...

Thanks MrMontana1889! I recently reworked my San Martin Bay and Gotham Bay maps and was considering updating this one as well.
