Current version: 1.2
Please refer to the changelog for patch notes.

This mod adds a tech tree to the game which has been created by considering all vanilla blocks. It does not lock all vanilla blocks behind technologies but attempts to create a sensible progression through the available ones, while encouraging the use of the less commonly used blocks. This mod is designed to be used with the AQD - Research mod.

AQD - A Quantum of Depth is a project of mine, encompassing multiple small and larger mods aimed at improving the gameplay experience and eventually overhauling larger parts of the game:

Tech Tree
  • Technologies are separated into 4 tiers, based on the type of Research Material required to research them.
  • Research Material is produced in the assembler with ingots of various metals. Better Research Material is required for higher tier technologies, which unlock better blocks.

  • The amount of Research Material required to research a technology as well as the time it takes is still highly work in progress. I'm looking for feedback on these values and very much open to adjusting them.

Is there a tech tree mod out there that supports the latest DLCs/updates, since this one seems dead?

@Manshima

Probably just a design choice by enenra, but feel free to adjust it to your liking!

@Sleipnir_Schwanz49

Please submit your world for testing if you are still having issues

Any chance of an update for new DLCs?

The creator of this mod is entirely evil. :| But I forgive him/her/them/other.

Is there a known mod that limits all the dlc blocks too? I find this limits everything vanilla but anything added by DLC is unlocked making it a little less balanced. Thank's for any advice as I am having trouble finding one myself.

Started a new game with this pack of mods and I like how it slows down the game a bit. Questions though - why did you chose to have Hydrogen thrusters unlock before Atmos thrusters?

The reason I ask is I'm thinking about modifying your Vanilla tech tree to switch the two. I want to set up a scenario where the player crashes on a desert planet (Dusty Desert Planet mod), and that planet has NO ice/water on it. I'd like to hear your thoughts as the author before I go making changes though.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but with just the four mods to get this going, everything is already unlocked, any ideas?

@Menos

I've just tested the mod in an old and new save, in creative and survival, and both are working as intended.

The next step for you would be to publish your world and send us the link so we can look at your specific setup. Thanks :)

Please try it in a new save with only this mod installed. That will let us determine whether it's a mod conflict.
