Description

Current version: 1.4b
Please refer to the changelog for patch notes.

This mod adds a selection of concrete and reinforced concrete blocks to the game. These use the Concrete Skin textures but are built with concrete, which is made from gravel. The blocks' textures are connected when placed next to each other, just like armor blocks. Furthermore, adding this mod to your savegame will disable the Concrete Skin as these blocks act as a replacement.

AQD - A Quantum of Depth is a project of mine, encompassing multiple small and larger mods aimed at improving the gameplay experience and eventually overhauling larger parts of the game:

12 New Concrete Blocks
Available only in large grid, concrete blocks are very cheap and durable but extremely heavy. All block shapes exist in two variations - Concrete and Reinforced Concrete:
  • Concrete Block
  • Concrete Slope
  • Concrete Corner
  • Concrete Inverted Corner
  • Concrete Half Block
  • Concrete Half Block Slope

Integrated into the Game
These concrete blocks use Keen's armor system, meaning that their textures are connected across blocks placed next to each other. The concrete blocks also represent a much-needed sink for gravel, as the concrete component that the blocks are largely made of requires gravel to be produced. Furthermore, as these blocks would be rather pointless if the concrete skin could achieve the same look, this mod disables the Concrete Skin from being used.

  • The amount of block shapes is highly unlikely to grow in the future. I might add one or two more blocks, but please do not send me requests for more additions.

  • Chipstix213 - For kindly re-exporting the necessary models for me using 3DsMax, as Blender was refusing to cooperate.

For anyone having trouble finding Sp!ts' patch to re-enable the skin for other blocks, it's here: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3372896786

I use the concrete skin on other blocks quite a bit to represent things like ablative coatings and non-slip surfaces so having it disabled was preventing me from being able to use the concrete mod itself.

Thanks Sp!ts!

when writing a script for the programmable block, what is the name of the component for concrete for use with something like -MyItemType.MakeComponent("XXX")

great mod too btw. Makes stone far more useful in survival vs having to make everything out of iron.

Has anyone tested if this works with Industrial Overhaul?

Would you be against adding more shapes to your concrete mod or making another mod as a extension to your original with more shapes?

The sbc method seems to work. I published the patch.

I''l try that, thanks.

modadjuster then likely can't do this, but you can do it as a normal SBC mod. Pretty sure there should be quite a few on the workshop already.

Hi, thanks for the great mods.
I created a patch mod using modadjuster to enable the concrete skin again as you suggested in a previous post but it doesn't seem to work, it loads fine & no errors in the logs, any suggestions?
