Flashlight Toggle Button

Omschrijving
This mod depends on the Scalable Init Support addon.

Using this addon, you can toggle the flashlight on your hand anytime during the game (including campaign and custom maps) by pressing the Arm Grenade button on your controller.

The default button can be rebound from the Arm Grenade button to other bindings using the flashlight_toggle_action console variable. One possible way of using this command is by adding a new line to the end of the skill_hlvr.cfg file, which can be found at:
  • steamapps/common/Half-Life Alyx/game/hlvr/cfg/skill_hlvr.cfg
For example, adding the following line to the end of this file will rebind the flashlight button to the Toggle Laser Sight button:
flashlight_toggle_action 13
13 is the index of the Toggle Laser Sight binding, a list of other possible bindings can be found here.

I've added a cvar for changing the binding, add the following line to the end of steamapps/common/Half-Life Alyx/game/hlvr/cfg/skill_hlvr.cfg

flashlight_toggle_action 13

Index 13 is Toggle Laser Sight, you can replace it with any other binding from this list here:

I absolute love this mod, but this button layout is the worst possible choice for flashlight on and off, because whenever I grab or catch something or interact with the world (which I do with both triggers or only the upper trigger) the flashlight goes on and off constantly. Is there a way to bind the B or Y button for flashlight toggle on and off instead? I cannot find it in the controller config, just toggle laser on and off (which does not affect the flashlight).
Is there any way to bind a different button for this awesome mod please? :steamhappy:

Noooooo!!!! Oh Well... this is my first play through, so I'm learning as I go; but, at least, I'll know for next time.

Start a new game, addons can't be toggled for existing saves.

FlashLIght Toggle Button MOd doesn't seem to be working for me. I Sub'd to Scalable Init... then I Sub'd to FlashLight Toggle; then loaded the game; went into Add-Ons... Turned on FlashLight Mod... then Turned on Scalable Init Mod (So Scalable Init was the Last Mod Activated); loaded my latest Save Game; hit the Left Hand (and tried Right Hand) Arm Grenade button (Note: While I had nothing in my hands): But the FlashLight never game on.

I then tried Turning Off the FlashLight, and Back on; so it was the last add-on turned on; but that didn't work either.

Note: I have no other Add-Ons... Just these two.

Any Ideas?

FYI: I'm Posting this exact Message under the Other Mod as well, in hopes the answer is somewhere :).
