[FFS] Feast of Fire and Smoke: Hardcore Patch (NO LONGER SUPPORTED)

Description
NOTICE: THIS IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

If someone wishes to upkeep this in my stead, notify me. Otherwise, you can consider this a dead mod.

Is Dungeons and Encounters too easy for you? Do you run things like Extended Story, RPG Growth or Knightfall and just plow through the FFS DaE enemies with no effort? Want an extra challenge for extra loot?

If the answer is 'no', then this mod is NOT for you. Not to worry though, you are the majority.

For those brave/foolish few, I've made this.

Changes (keep in mind, this only effects Dungeons and Encounters enemies. The FFS Mission enemies are unaffected):

- Pirates and Cultists use regular bullets, NOT the glowing ones. Yes, the same bullets you fire they fire now too.

- Pirates are much more aggressive in general. They take less time to raise their guns and shoot, and take less time to engage in melee.

- Regular pirates fire more bullets at a time.

- Pirate snipers will snipe you from farther away than normal.

- Pirate Troopers have much higher protection. You WILL need explosives or lucky crits to take them down.

- Pirate Troopers CAN crit you. So can bunkers.

- Pirate Psychoes and Zealots attack much more quickly and have slightly more health. The latter in particular gets faster and more aggressive the more injured it gets.

- Cultists use a variety of weapons.

- Cultists in general have a bit of protection. Not a lot, but they have SOMETHING.

- Cultist weapons CAN crit/headshot you.

- Cultist grenadiers can actually throw grenades. And they aren't the easy to spot glowey kind anymore either.

- Cultist templars may be wielding heavy guns in addition to their other weapons.

- Cultist Summoners may weild MGs or heavy ARs instead of their AKs.

- Cultist Paras may be weilding shotguns OR LMGs, the latter of which CAN suppress you.

- Cultist RPG (from the space encounters) and Cultist Snipers (from the ocean ruin buoy encounter) now spawn regularly in other enounters.

-All gun and money loot has been doubled. This is your reward for enduring hardcore mode.

(6.0 Changes)

- Snipers attack you from even FURTHER away.

- Level gates on encounters removed.

- Miniknogs get buffs

- Penguins Crit more often

- Miniknog robots are much more dangerous and aggressive.

Still using this mod to this day (Yes im that cruel to myself.) I am curious how difficult a mod like this actually is to upkeep (Considering i have zero experience in actually creating mods and the extent of my experience modifying them is notepad+ changes to clearly written scripts)

I dont run into problems with this mod very often, only thing I do notice time to time is certain units not effected by it. (Mostly aircraft and armoured vehicles added in other FFS mods from more recent dates,)

The invincible enemies people speak of generally still die plenty easy enough with the use of critical hits and headshotting weapons, the hardcored enemies still put up a good fight like I want.

I know this mod is long since dead, but would still love to see some of the non-included units added into this. (I never did bother giving Galaxy in conflict another try, couldnt get along with the control scheme.)

What kinda heathen would set the reloading key for their mod to tie in with walking anyhow...

Tried Galaxy in conflict out, couldn't get along with it. Too much complexity.

If you guys really want what FFS DaE Hardcore brings to the table, I suggest you check out Galaxy in Conflict. It's basically this mod but much better done.

It's not that bad.

Think the main things I would miss, are the enemies using actual bullets instead of glowey projectiles, the aggro range and any extra spawns. Long as the DaE without hardcore patch keeps a nice high volume of enemies to kill, maybe see's a spawn rate increase patch to compensate for the lack of hardcore patch... I could probably just deal with it.

with that last comment said....I've had the hardcore patch for so long that maybe i just dont know how much content isnt loading...

I would honestly prefer if you just added (No longer Supported) to the title and just let people use it with the sense of, it might not work 100% correct, it generally does work still and I would personally be gutted to see it go, I love the extra challenge.

yeah I haven't updated this in a while. And in all honesty, I'm thinking about removing it entirely.

Too much work for too little gain.
