Description
UPDATE: I'm now retired from Skyrim modding, but thanks to KINGCOBRAMAN, there's a fix for the issue with the Centurion not being able to get through doors. You can get it here. http://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?edit=true&id=960152040

Anyway, I was proceeding through a dwarven ruin collecting metal in a very Dovahkiin-like manner. My younger brother, who had recently bought the game, was sitting beside me and watching me play. He brought up something that I found to be quite a genius idea. "It would be cool if you could build some of these robots," he said, half requesting that I make such a mod. So I did. With this mod, you can build Dwarven Spheres, Dwarven Spiders, and Dwarven Centurions to do your evil bidding or be your date to a tea party if that's what you're into. But most people just use them to clobber bandits and whatever other thing would wish you harm.

Because you can't craft NPCs without tons of long, time consuming scripting, the Dwemer robots you construct are summoned via scrolls, so they take up the slot conjured creatures do, this might prove inconvenient if you are attepting to level up your Conjuration skill, but I have yet to meet a mage that enjoys spending long hours over a hot flame hammering bits of metal.

Making the scrolls requires the Dwarven Smithing perk, and they are found under the "Misc" tab in a Blacksmith's Forge. Each robot requires different amounts of different kinds of Dwemer metal, and the Sphere and Spider bots are identical to the ones you find in the wild. The Centurion is 50% shorter than the ones you've undoubtably found protecting some kind of loot chest so that it doesn't clip through the ceiling if you bring it into your house or some other area with a low ceiling, but it runs three times as fast so that it can keep up with you. Otherwise, its stats and abilities are the same.

Making the Dwarven Spider requires:
-1 Solid Dwemer Metal
-2 Dwemer Gyros
-4 Dwemer Levers

Making the Dwarven Sphere requires:
-1 Solid Dwemer Metal
-2 Large Dwemer Struts
-1 Large Dwemer Plate Metal

Making the Dwarven Centurion requires:
-1 Centurion Dynamo Core
-2 Large Dwemer Struts
-2 Large Decorative Dwemer Struts
-4 Solid Dwemer Metal

Note: In testing, I have encountered an issue where the Centurion won't follow me through doors, and doesn't come to me when I wait. If anyone else encounters this bug or has any advice on how to repair it, please say so.

If there's anything you'd like to see included or if you have any advice, please do say so. :3

I suggest adding something to the crafting recipe if possible: Soul gems, since you find them on thier corpses. Just a thought. :D

Thanks, man. I'll update the description with the link. :)

I'm more or less retired from Skyrim. However, you have my permission to make that change yourself (since it sounds like you know how to do it) and publish it as a patch. I'll even put a link in the description if you do. :)

Plus there's the thing with the CK not being able to update existing mods after the game is uninstalled.

I don't think I can. I haven't had Skyrim or the CK installed for the longest time and I don't really want to do that just to make a small change to a mod I published 3 years ago that nobody uses anymore.

if you haven't already fixed it, have you checked the can open doors/ unchecked the can't open doors box? since they normally can't open doors(centurions) i needed to alter the state of that box for one of my mods to get the summons to properly follow me into a dungeon.

If I remember correctly, there's a renamer mod on the workshop somewhere.
