SN Servers - Gmod Build Map

Description
The map featured in B&I's Build Server
Server IP: 80.235.211.66:27502
Addon collection for those interested in joining:
Here

Exact map name: gm_sn_servers_0342

Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2 are required for many of the models and textures on the map, if you don't have one or both of these, you may see errors or purple/black checkerboards

Works best with StormFox! It is only recommended for the best experience though, and not required to play the map.

Uses the "Real World Textures" material packs, as well as a water material pack from TopHATTwaffle for various textures in the map, and uses various addons created by Steventechno (Buildings and Roads Pack 2.0, House Pack 3, Furniture Pack Classic, and Furniture Pack Extended), no other download is required as all the required content is packed in the map file.

A large sandbox map featuring:
  • Full StormFox support for dynamic time of day and weather!
  • Full Source engine HDR Support! LDR is supported for lower-end PCs, but not recommended as the map was made with HDR in mind
  • A large lobby you spawn in, with a cinema, swimming pool, cafe, club, teleport room for fast transportation, various interactable objects, and much more!
  • A medium size PvP zone featuring a bunker, with a nearby small town suited for roleplays
  • A large area for building land vehicles, buildings, trains, and many other things
  • A small island build area for ships and other things related to building near, or in water
  • A drag strip and medium size racetrack for cars!
  • A "Mini-flatgrass" area
  • A small "Garden" area
  • Many different interactable objects across different areas
And plenty more to explore, search for and find (good luck!)!

Common issues and answers:
Q: I see missing textures and errors in different places/I see purple checkerboards!
A: Make you own "Counter-Strike: Source" on Steam, and have it installed, as well as have "Team Fortress 2" on Steam (Free game) installed, then start Garry's Mod, and click the controller icon on the bottom-right of the screen, and check the Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2 boxes, then restart your game and the map should work!

Q: I have low fps/I'm lagging/I get low performance in certain areas!
A: Some areas are harder to run than others in this map, but if you can run CSGO or other newer games, you can run this map. First, if you use StormFox, go into the addon's settings, and turn off the "Moon Phases" setting for a large performance increase. Second, try to enable multi core rendering in Garry's Mod if you have a PC with 4 or more cores (Highly recommended for playing on this map).
If you still have low performance, lower your anti-aliasing setting if you have it enabled, and change the water setting to "Reflect World", and type "cl_detaildist 500" into the console.
If you still continue to get low performance in parts of the map, try to reduce other settings as well, I hope that helps!

This map is great. Is it alright if i can slightly modify it for private purposes? If so, is there a VMF i can get access to or included with the map?

Uploaded the latest version that's been worked on over the past few months! Notable changes are:
-Remade the racetrack and drag strip, the drag strip now has a usable countodown as well
-Improved cubemaps
-Updated the HDR support
-Added map credits to the spawn room
-Massively improved the lighting quality in the Lobby area
-The swimming pool water can now be drained and refilled
-Added multiple new rooms in the Lobby including a train station and new storage room (Look around closely, there's much more to find, good luck!), and multiple new areas entirely outside of it
-The bridge in the main build area can now be raised to allow large ships to cross under it
-Added ladders to be able to get out of the water in the main build area without noclipping
-Replaced the house in the water build area with a much more detailed one
-Added lots of new interactable objects in the Lobby
-Varies updates, optimizations, and improvements to all other areas, and much more not listed here

A large update has released to change the loud "bass-heavy" soundscape to a new one, fix the scaling and various lobby texture alignment issues, added/replaced the bridge in the main build area with a new one, added cubemaps and adjusted HDR lighting, and much more! Full changelog here

@Steventechno
I'll take a look at the soundscapes in a future build, thanks for letting me know about them!
Also, as for the map entities, sorry about that, we kind of built and tested this with FPP installed on our testing server, so we couldn't touch map entities with physgun in testing. We'll see about making improvements on that in the future to help it better support not having that addon installed

@zynx
A friend of yours has informed me about the scaling issues related to some things in lobby, we'll see about improving on that too, thanks for the feedback, and we'll try to work on that in future builds as well! Also, which textures seem out of alignment that you've noticed? We might have missed those in our testing in a few areas

a few parts of the lobby seem off, textures arent properly alligned.
do you follow the grid????
