Description
This mod extend the ability to build the improvement : Moai, to every civilization.

Accordingly, a unique building has been added to Polynesia civilization:
' The Marae ', wich replaces the Temple.

Heres some infos:

'A marae is a communal or sacred place that serves religious and social purposes in Polynesian societies. The word also means 'cleared, free of weeds, trees, etc.' It generally consists of an area of cleared land roughly rectangular (the marae itself), bordered with stones or wooden posts (called au in Tahitian and Cook Islands Māori) perhaps with terraces (paepae) which were traditionally used for ceremonia.

Like in pre-European times, marae continue to be the location of many ceremonial events, including birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries.'

Features:
  • Make the 'Moai' improvement available to workers from any civilization

  • Adjust the Polynesia civilization so they have a unique building just like other civilizations.

  • The Above historical info and all the new unique building info have been added to civilopedia (see screenshot)

  • The AI will use the Moai, the unique building is also properly flavored, meaning the AI will use it correctly and your advisors will recommend it.

Notes:
This game has always mixed civilization culture, history and flavors in a fictional way. You can play a viking whose capital is in the African desert and who spawn a great merchant named Steve Job. Why not do it with terrain improvement too?
The majority of the civ have a unique unit and a unique building anyway, I think that making terrain improvement a generic content offer more choice of customization for your cities and produce enjoyable landscape instead of boring cities full of farm or mines. Thats the point of all these 'Improvements Extensions' mods.

Compatibility:
  • Requires God and Kings Expansion
  • Requires Polynesia DLC
  • Compatible with Brave New World Expansion

You need polynesia DLC for this one, as said in the mod description

I can get your Polder and Casbah mod to work, but your Moai and Terrace Farm will not. Any thoughts?

So although every civ can build the moai, only polynesia gets the +10% combat bonus if within 2 tiles of a moai (because of it's UA)?

@Choo

I understand your worries but i usually think a LOT about balance when releasing a mod, its always my primary concern and i tested this one and i think its balanced, its less powerful than some other UB, just check the arabian market unique effect. Also you usually only work the sea tiles that has a ressource on it, especially now that they dont give gold anymore.

Also this bonus is limited to coastal cities unlike other UB.

Finally the +1 happiness is a +1 "Local" happiness wich is much less powerful since it wont give happiness if the city population is too low vs other happiness building.

The Moai is a big part of the civ, the huge culture loss had to be compensated with something flavored and not too weak, while staying balanced, i think that does it.
