INTRODUCTION

Hey guys, with Stellaris Megacorp we have the possibility to make has much profit as we want.
But sometimes our resources will reach the limit of our capacity not allowing us to make more without spending time and so we will be forced to waste our surplus of resources into the market or other events before increasing our capacity with new technologies.

Please just understand that the mod is pretty big so there will probably be some bugs that I didn't see, if you find one just report it here and we will see how it can be fixed.



FEATURES

The goal of this mod is to give the player the possibility to secure his surplus resources
without limit into a private bank in order to use them later at any time.

After 10 Years in the game (or every decade) a script will establish contact of the galaxy bank with every country. Once you are in contact with them, they will directly open a private bank account for you with free resources which can be taken.

  1. TRANSACTIONS

    You have the possibility to make transactions in your private bank account concerning the 5 main resources:
    energy, minerals, food, consumer goods and alloys. There is no limit in how much you can deposit into your account.
    However, just remember that every 5 years the bank will tax 10% of your economies inside the account and that every transaction will be taxed on 5% following the current rules:

    - When you deposit resources the taxes will take 5% and so only 95% will reach your account.
    - When you take resources the taxes while another 5% into your account so you will need a total of 105% the amount of the transaction.

    Also making the deposit will increase the opening of the bank toward you.

  2. MISSIONS

    If you have an opinion, good enough the bank will allow offer some missions in order to win some resources in exchange of your service. Missions can be space battles, planet scan, or anything else (to come in the future).
    Once a mission is accepted, you will have a delay of 3 years to complete it. If the delay is finished or you have refused the proposed mission the opinion of the bank toward you will decrease.

  3. LOANS

    Here comes the most interesting part of the mod, when you reach the maximum opinion, you have the possibility to ask for a loan. The bank will directly transfer the loan into your private bank account with an additional bonus to pay the taxes of the transactions. But as you have probably understood a loan will need to be refunded and in order to do it you will need to have the requested amount if energy credits directly into your account they won't take any other sort of resources. A minimum delay of 2 Years will be established before you can pay back. You can't ask for another loan as long as you haven't paid the current one.

    Loans also mean interests, when taking one the basic amount will rise by 5% and the bank will contact you back in 5 Years in order to pay them back. You can tell them that you will gather the money later, giving you another delay of 5 Years but each time the interest will increase a gain of 5%. Once you have reached 20 Years won't wait any longer, you will have to pay them right now and here the situation starts to become a bit tense. You will have the possibility to pay them directly, or you can tell them that you don't have the money, which will put reduce the bank opinion and send you into a menu where you have different options.

    From that moment your private bank account will be blocked and all the resources inside frozen.
    In that menu the bank offers you the options to pay them back by selling your populations as slaves or to directly give them your resources. You have only one time the possibility to ask for a delay of 2 years before gathering enough money. Or you can tell them that you won't pay them back which will have dangerous consequences.

    When refusing to pay them back the bank will close their communications with you with a message just showing how much you own them. But that is not all after a certain delay you will receive a message saying that hostile mercenary fleets are approaching looking for your colonies. These fleets will loot every colony for slaves and resources. Once a mercenary fleet orbits your colony they will directly send waves of armies to defeat the defenses. Once a colony is under their control all the populations expect one to keep the colony active will be taken as slaves and negative modifier will be added to the planet. And as long as one colony is still free the bank will keep paying mercenaries to attack you. Once all your colonies are controlled the bank will take all your resources and the mercenary fleets will no longer be hostile and leave the galaxy.

    When refusing to pay the loans you have the possibility to apologize by paying an extra fee of 75000 energy. That will directly liberate your occupied planet and the fleets will turn neutral.

  4. SHARES

    By reaching the maximum opinion you have the possibility to buy shares of the bank starting from 1% up to 100%, which will from start from removing your yearly taxes to even generate profits by making more and more money, the taxes on transaction will also be removed once you have enought shares.

    Having 100% of the bank shares will give you enormous powers in the next updates.



KNOWN BUGS
- For now there is only one mission available which is the pirates attack.
- I have no idea on how AIs will behave with the bank. I will probably turn it off for them.



FOR THE FUTURE
- Add more missions(2 more).
- Add a scenario if the player defeat mercenary fleets.
- Add rewards if the opinion is good.
- Add the possibility to buy actions little by little until you become the bank owner.



MORE INFORMATIONS
- Mod is compatible with old saves(bank will check for activation every decades).
*before adding that mod to your save I recommand keeping a safe copy(we don't know what may happen).
- No files were replaces which means the mod is compatible with any other mod.

After 2 hrs of manually testing which mod out of my 60 mods was crashing at loading, it turned out to be this mod. Hopefully it gets an update, I realize it is years old lol but it is an incredible mod.

I've forked this for 3.7. This version still works, but my updated fork includes strategic resources and minor artifacts.

Personally I think energy as a resource makes sense that it costs to store, especially as it means it gives you an advantage in storage over the AI. A tax is a fair balance.

I could have sworn that banks generally pay YOU to store your money with them. Something about space makes corporations extra brutal. It probably doesn't have anything to do with a lack of proper government oversight on large corporations that operate almost entirely in space and have their own military, right?
