Description
The KFBE used to run the interurban trains from Cologne to Frechen in Germany, ever since their foundation using both their own heavy rail lines, as well as tracks of the Cologne tram network. Also ever since, their vehicles hence were hybrids of railway EMUs and trams. The "Sambawagen" is no exception to that. Built by the long since defunct Westwaggon in the 1950's, they replaced aging vehicles and set new standards in comfort on the line back then. The Sambas – nicknamed such because of their soft suspension and permanent rocking motions during the ride resulting thereof, came as single and twin units, both of which could be coupled to form longer trains.

They remained in service until about 1970 when some were scrapped and many found a new home at the Linzer Lokalbahn in Austria. The KFBE line still exists today, but has long been fully integrated into KVB's lightrail network, currently being served by line 7.

This mod includes the twin unit Samba as a tram.

We're veering perilously close to GT6/8 Duewags!

Yes, I'm planning to do so. One-car version and a line-colored one also.

I should have read the description more closely. Nonetheless, I'll be using these along with the B80's you also made! There's a surprising serious lack in classic trams on the workshop at the moment, so again, very very happy to see this appear. Are you also planning on releasing a prop version?

Thank you very much! They're Westwaggon though, not DÜWAG :p

Perfect! Thank you so much for creating a classic Düwag design! This is a very welcome street asset for any German inspired town!
