This version of the mod was made with Fireborn's permission.

So a while back when the shiv mod was still on the workshop I made a few custom changes to it for my own personal use and unsubscribed from the original version. I used this personal version since then, recently I noticed that the original SHIV mod was taken down. I am reuploading this mod so other people can have SHIVs in their games.

I want to say this again I did not make this mod but I know it was made by the extremely talented creative Xenos Team and Fireborn. I also want to give proper credit for this mod in its description towards everyone who worked on it, so If I missed anyone with the above credits let me know so I can update it.

What this mod Changes
1. All SHIVs start with 1 Armor.
2. Cost reductions: Standard SHIVS cost 60 supplies while Alloy SHIVs cost 75 supplies and 15 alien Alloys.
3. SHIVS weapons are improved from the original mod, and upgrading the weapons improves more then just damage.
4. SHIVS do not have the standard soldier ranks and names, they have their own ranking system called upgrades. The longer a SHIV survives the more upgrades they can obtain. A default SHIV will be U-0 meaning Zero Upgrades.
5. Their are two types of SHIVS: Scout SHIVS and ALLOY SHIVS. Scout SHIVS are meant to be more of recon or Cannon Fodder Drones. Alloy SHIVS are meant to be Tanks.
6. SHIVS do not gain health, aim or any other stat increases as they upgrade. They are machines not normal Soldiers.
7. Shivs now have proving ground projects to improve them.
8. You can now change and adjust the costs of Shivs.
9. I've added a new ability to shivs called bulldoze protocol, which can be activated for one turn. This ability allows shivs to plow through walls and cover destroying them. I've added this ability to address an issue where the shivs could get stuck because they could not move around certain cover. This will only occur in new campaigns or newly created SHIVs.
10. The latest update allows Shivs to use certain Vanilla guns. Look at the Xcomclassdata config files to see the guns each shiv type can use. Currently the Shivs are set up to be able to use Vanilla and TLE weapons, however you can add more guns to the list by modifying the XComSHIV_M1 config file.

Warnings
Please don't bring shiv on the lost and abandoned mission. That mission is a bit buggy with robotic units as you are not meant to have them on the mission. I also dont recommend having your Shivs try take the vial from the black site mission as that will bug out the game.

This mod was not designed for LWOTC so many errors can occur if you try and use it with LWOTC.

The firing animations appear to work with this version of the SHIV mod.

However it doesn't use the typical soldier skill system, instead using proving ground upgrades and engineered stuff. Probably a better approach for a mechanical unit I guess.

Still would love Tintable update to these models.

Also bit of a shame the armour is not tintable, and the upgrades don't change appearance a bit to show upgrades better. But I understand that is pretty hard work to do.

Can't get Laser Cannons to show shooting effects. Seems only some weapons will display the firing effect.

@DPK[???_????] Do the Shivs without skill tree have gremlins? Because "Buildable Units" also adds Shivs.

mod jam and buildable unit can make this mod work in LWOTC.... but they don't seem to promote and has no ability previews in the skill tree

Is it at all possible to release a LWOTC compatible version of this mod? It's used in Ted Jam so its definitely possible to be made compatible. Maybe someone who knows what they are doing can easily copy whatever changes were made in Ted Jam to make it compatible as a standalone mod?

@Madzak and @mayrenise123 even Sparks have a will Stat. Though both Sparks and SHIVS are immune to all mind control/panic related abilities.
