American Sign Replacer

Description
Use the Loading Screen Mod to reduce memory usage as they all use the same texture set

Make sure you turn on the option "Share textures" and "Share materials" if you have Loading Screen Mod

NOTICE: Version 1.07 is a bit over 300mb as I am testing out different prop variations and texture resolutions.

This is only temporary, the next update will reduce the mod file size significantly.

This is an alternative to the American Roadsigns mod.

My goal here is to not only replace all vanilla road signs with American style signs, but also add new signs where there were none in the vanilla game, for example a highway exit sign on offramps, TMPE compatible speed limit signs**, crosswalk signs and more

Version 1.0:
--------------------
Stop sign replaced.

Version 1.02d:
--------------------
All vanilla signs replaced.

Version 1.03:
--------------------
Replaced highway gantries/signs -- the new gantries have signs with very little text (only things like NORTH or EXIT) so I recommend grabbing Procedural Objects and US Highway Fonts for Procedural Objects so you can dress them up.

Version 1.05:
--------------------
The stop sign now has multiple variations that can appear. There is a low chance a damaged/broken stop sign might show up to add a bit of realism. Later on (after I figure out how to integrate the options menu) this will become a toggleable option.

Version 1.07:
--------------------
Overhauled all of the signs (except for the interstate sign; that's on my to-do list)
The signs all now have a reasonable amount of tris and increased texture quality (shared if you use Loading Screen Mod)
Reworked the sign posts with a new u-channel style post instead of a textured box
Street name sign now has 4 variants, this way they don't all look completely identical. (Will be optional in future version)
NEW: Added new speed limit signs in preperation for TMPE/road speed feature** -- 5, 10, 45, 50, 75 & 80 mph signs (They are only props until the TMPE feature is implemented, so if you wanna use them just use Find It and place em by hand for now)

** Planned feature to have the speed limit signs take into account the TMPE speed limit settings.

This mod is FULLY compatible with American Roadsigns as of right now. I will also be adding an options menu where you can turn on/off certain signs, that way if you like you can use both mods for preferred props.

** Traffic Manager President Edition allows you to change the speed limit on your roads/highways, I am aiming to have the roads speed limit signs change depending on what you have the limit set to with TMPE (if all goes well)

Special thanks to BloodyPenguin for that awesome American Traffic Light source :D

DISCLAIMER: I generally make these mods so I can learn new things such as 3D modeling, C# etc. I also make them for myself as I really enjoy building realistic cities more than anything. Some if not all of the meshes are moderate to high tri count. I will go back an optimize them later, but for now they sit right around the games warning limit for tris. It really shouldn't affect performance. Even with hundreds of roads I have not experienced any performance loss, however I am on an i7-4770k with 32 GB of RAM

@KingNukeJai8000

The author mentioned below that he's unable to work on these due to his RL responsibilities, which is highly understandable, especially if this isn't something you being PAID to do. We appreciate the contribution(s) though. :D"

Happy city building everyone! :steamthumbsup::steamhappy:

For the next update, can you make it compatible with the USRP Highways set

@KingNukeJai8000

It works for the Big Urban Roads pack(s), but not for the USRP pack unfortunately.

@Pslytely Psycho Thanks! I do miss working on these mods and playing CS, but I'm just too busy to find the free time now days. I am super stoked for CS2 though, I just watched the trailer and it seems like they have finally added US road signs, traffic lights and road markings to the base game :D

@ol' rdtg, Just dropping a note that this still seems to work fine even after the final update. I was looking for something else and just happened past here. I honestly didn't know you weren't still modding until I saw that Richie's comment.
So I saw you were online and just wanted to say a hearty thank you.
The one and only problem I had with it was on a single four way stop, one stop sign was laying face up on the sidewalk like it had been hit. All the rest were in place. Actually that kinda added a bit of realism to that particular intersection.
Anyway dude thank you very much. I've used this mod for years with no problems and hopefully none show up.
Your amazing work was (and IS) appreciated!
Have a great weekend.
