Description
Long ago, in the pioneer times of the Novakids after the destruction of their progenitor star and the beginning of their settlements, one settlement was met by an Apex scientist, seeking to discover new civilizations, like the Novakids themselves. He shared some of his technology, among them were holographic projectors and a small field radiation emitter, and a small magnetic field generatorl. After his departure a young Novakid farmer took some of the projectors and emitters and tinkered with them. He aimed to create a "crop" that would strengthen Novakid natural magnetic fields and feed them at the same time. He succeeded when he was the first to eat a spear of it and tested it on the first Novakid Space Train as fuel.

This mod adds a new crop called Laser Asparagus. It can be planted on un-tilled tiles, so you can have a garden growing behind your captain's chair. It can also be used both as food and fuel, giving 100 units per spear. You can buy the seeds at Terramart or Tabula Rasa
for 200 Pixels.

It sound like a load of crap, but I got the idea after having a dream about it. It involved exactly what this mod does, except that the icon for the food item is an entirely green version of the seed. Feel free to suggest recipes.

@elfPilauli I'll get to it when I get a new computer that can run Starbound with 200+ mods.

Well, I now have a lifetime supply of fuel.

Honestly, I think the 100 fuel points per item is very OP, given that Erchius crystals only give 2 fuel points per item. 10 or even 5 would probably still be quite useful, without making Erchius obsolete as soon as you reach the Terramart. (In which case Erchius fuel becomes obsolete before you can even reach it, since the "fix your ship" quest unlocks the Terramart.)

@gymnoitan Yes, grilling the Laser Asparagus causes half of its energy to be released. Also I know how to assemble a recipe, I just need the right sprite.

@gymnoitan Don't worry, any suggestions are appreciated.

Not that I expect any changes, but I would expect fully (grown? matured? projected?) Laser Asparagus to illuminate a small area around it.

Please keep in mind that I am not asking you to change the behaviour of the plant, but It does make sense that since it IS made of light and radiation, that it WOULD give some small glow around it.

Again, I understand if you won't implement this, as it does more than it's fair share of work already (I use it quite extensively).

Laser Aspearagus Salad
1 Tomato
1 Carrot
1 Corn
2 Laser Asparagus

-(Unnamed)-
2 Laser Asparagus
1 Cooked Steak
1 Potato
1 Pearlpea

Sorry to impose any demands on you. None are intended. I just thought I's throw a few ideas out there.

Wishing the best for you and your mods,
Semaj.
