Advanced Combat Animations Pack V4 - Override Edition

Description
Edit: 23rd September 2023

It has come to my attention that there are multiple edits of Ragnarok_mr4's work floating around on the net, so I just want to clear something up as I am not involved in those.

I was given express permission by Adam to redistribute his work back in 2004 as an override edition, and my own contribution to the his work was that I added the tail and cape nodes from v1.69 of the original game release.

I understand v4.0 is a little janky with the HD models, so if you would like to try Bartleby's or anybody else's variants of this mod then please do so, but be warned that the "4.1" file on the NWVault is not my work, its a re-release with custom amendments, as I was not involved I wont be able to offer support on it or advice on how to get that working.

I have essentially retired from modding this game but if my steamworkshop version ever becomes incredibly broken or incompatible with NWN:EE then let me know and I will dig out the old tools and see if I can get to the bottom of it.

My own hope is that Ragnarok_mr4 comes out of his own retirement (wherever he may be these days), and gives us v5 of the mod with even more features. At that point I will gladly update the steamworkshop version if he so permits it.

Cheers,

Scope

Terms of use/Permissions: Originally distributed on NWVault by Ragnarok_mr4 (Adam Bothello), I was given permission to redistribute version 3 of his work, my contribution was to fix the wings and tail nodes as an override edition under the community name Sc(+)peh/Col2004 earning a Hall of Fame listing. As Adam has since left the NWN modding scene and is no longer contactable, this modification is distributed under the permission he granted me to distribute v3.0 of this mod.

All credit for these animations belong to the original author Ragnorok_mr4 (Adam Bothello), I take no credit other than extracting the files from the hak into an override friendly format and uploading. My only goal is to curate and make accessible Adam's work.

All questions regarding this workshop release should be posted below

DESCRIPTION:

As per below except this has been compiled into a user friendly Override version without the need for extracting the hak using nwhak.

USE: The option to choose fighting style can be selected from the Crafting menu, please note that this mod will clash with any modifcation that edits the crafting menu, or any PW that offers a custom crafting menu.

RECCOMENDED FOR USE WITH CHARACTER OVERHAUL MOD - updated
2nd May 2022 link to latest version - (compatibility issues fixed)

https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2583716215 - Frechdachs has kindly taken the time to upload Kamiryn's legendary expanded character customisation to the workshop in the latest version 6.33 - to get these to work together you might have to install this mod AFTER you install the CCOH mod due to a newer crafting interface in CCOH.

If this doesn't work as intended then try and install CCOH first then ACP 4.0

unfortunately you cant change the load order of workshop mods because of how the OVERRIDE folder works, so you will have to uninstall both mods then subscribe to them again with the most critical mod last.

TEXT ORIGINALLY TAKEN FROM NWVAULT PAGE -

https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/hakpak/original-hakpak/alternate-combat-animations-pack-acp-v40

This pack is the culmination of over 4 years of Ragnarok_mr4's work on NWN1. Included are a total of 11 fighting styles. 4 Of which are improved versions of the ones found in version 3 of the ACP, while the rest are all-new animation sets. Ragnarok_mr4's aim was to allow as much freedom of choice as possible to those who wish to complement their characters' looks with an animation set that matched the character's concept.

The combat styles available in ACPv4 are as follows:

1 - Kensei

2 - Assassin/Ninja

3 - Fencing

4 - Barbarian/Heavy

5 - Arcane - Character levitates, uses force-wave unarmed attacks and floating weapons. Also has spellcasting animations similar to Halaster from Infinite Dungeons or the Witch Lord from Wyvern Crown.

6 - DemonBlade - This is a special combat style commissioned by Daemon Blackrazor for his personal avatar that he graciously gave permission to release. At present, this is available for human males only.

7 - "Classic" Warrior - Inspired by the movie "300", this style is meant for those who wield a shield in one hand and a shortspear or sword in the other.

8 - Tiger Fang - An unarmed combat style inspired by Muay Thai.

9 - Sun Fist - Another unarmed combat style, this time inspired by Shotokan Karate.

10 - Dragon Palm - The third unarmed combat style, this takes its look and feel from Northern Shaolin and Tai-Chi Chuan fighting forms.

11 - Bear's Claw - The fourth unarmed combat style, this style is reminiscent of Hung Gar Tiger Fist kung-fu.

The visible cloaks from the 1.68 patch are supported for all the styles except Demon Blade and the unarmed combat sets. However, please note that as of this release, only the earlier BioWare robes are supported. The Wyvern Crown coats and loincloths included in the 1.69 patch are not yet supported and will not sync up with the ACPv4 animations.

ACPv4 uses phenotypes 15-21 and 30-33, and is thus incompatible with the CEP horse phenotypes. Ragnarok_mr4 has no plans of migrating the ACP to a different phenotype range, so please don't ask.

Ragnarok_mr4 removed the ACPv3.0 feat system and instead have implemented a simpler system based on a modified version of the Bioware crafting conversation. Module Builders have the option of discarding this method and using whatever method they prefer to switch fighting styles. Regular users have the added benefit of increased compatibility with modules as they no longer require a merge of the feat and spell .2da's in case the module has modified these files.

More in-depth information and installation instructions are provided in the documentation file also available on the page linked above.

It's been about 2 or more than 2 years since I wrote about a problem with this content and some tilesets. I've finally discovered that the tilesets have nothing to do with the problem. It is actually an older version of 'baseitems.2da' pre-version NWN1.69 that is the issue. If the 'baseitems.2da' is updated in the override the problem is solved.

Thank you, great mod. Is it possible to change the style of the Henchman too? Maybe by using the console and changing the henchman phenotypes ?. I deleted the previous post cause was full of error XD

Probably a dumb question but does this work in multiplayer servers? I know very little about modding this game but if its an override doesn't that make it clientside?

@Scopeh For some reason, I don't have the option to change fighting styles when accessing the crafting menu. Any idea why?
