Description
Expand your arsenal with Gemstone Crossbows and Bolts. Rain down elemental fury upon your enemies and leave the battlefield smoldering in your wake with Explosive Gemstone Bolts.!!!

~Requires Dawnguard~
~This mod is fully independent but is best enjoyed with the rest of my Diamond Smithing series. You can find them in the collection above.

Craftable at the forge. Each Gem type is unlocked as you progress at smithing.
-Garnet=Iron
-Amethyst=Steel
-Ruby=Elven/Dwarven
-Sapphire=Advanced Armor(Steel)/Orcish
-Emerald=Glass/Ebony
-Diamond=Dragonbone(Dawngaurd)***{Dawngaurd is required}***


{You can use flawless gems plus another rare ingredient to make Enchanted Bolts}
~Garnet= Concussive Blast (Knocks enemies back)
~Amethyst= Fury (Target attacks anything in sight for 60 seconds)
~Ruby= Fire Damage (leaves fire hazard for 30 seconds)
~Sapphire= Ice (chance to freezes target in ice, leaves Blizzard hazard for 30 seconds)
~Emerald= Poison Damage (chance to paralyze target, leaves poison gas hazard for 30 seconds)
~Diamond= Shock Damage (Knocks enemies back, leaves shock hazard for 30 seconds)

Crossbow - Flawless Gem, Firewood X2, Leather Strips, Gold Ingot
Bolt X50 - Gem, Firewood
Enchanted Bolt X50 - Flawless Gem, Firewood, + one of the following
(Giants Toe, Glowing Mushroom, Fire Salts, Frost Salts, Swamp Fungal Pod, Void Salts)

Never mind, I worked it out. I use the Legendary Uncapped Perks mod which, for some reason, nerfs the dragonbone weapons to flawless level at 100 smithing. Once I disabled this mod, the diamond crossbow went to legendary level no problem.

Interestingly, I don't have this problem with the diamond dagger. ie I can leave the LUP mod enabled and the dagger will become legendary, while a dragonbone dagger will become flawless.

Is there a reason the diamond crossbow reaches only flawless quality when upgrading at a grindstone with 100 smithing?

This is the only crossbow mod that uses a unique model that isn't ugly.

may need to be updated; I am able to get SOME of the crossbows but not the bolts.

@ep1c_g@m3r! whoops, I was missing the recipe for them. I just posted an update, you should be able to craft them now. soul trap bolts and arrows require the arcane blacksmith perk 1 firewood and 1 empty grand soul gem

@ep1c_g@m3r! Higher level enemies can resist spells like soul trap. you need to increase your conjuration skill. FYI sucsessfully shooting an enchated bolt or arrow will increase your magic as well as your archery skill

the enchanted soul gem bolts don't seem to work... I sneak shooted a bandit thug killing her in one shot and the game said she resisted it. does the effect have to be applied to a living target and then kill it?
