Mod Config Menu Legacy

Beskrivning
THIS IS AN OLDER VERSION OF MCM FOR ANYONE RUNNING THE BASE GAME INSTEAD OF WAR OF THE CHOSEN.

For the latest version compatible with War of the Chosen, go here: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=667104300

Tactical Legacy Pack update:

Based on my testing, this version of the mod continues to work for both the base game and WotC, including the Tactical Legacy Pack. If you run into issues, as always, leave a comment and I will help troubleshoot.

Nexus Link (for the equivalent version, explicitly subscribe to version 1.1.3): http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/573/

This mod (MCM) is a shared settings menu. Some mods require this mod in order for you to use the in-game configuration menus.

For full details on using this mod, troubleshooting, or even building your own mods to use this menu, visit: https://github.com/andrewgu/ModConfigMenu

=================================================

Latest Update:

- Added button to remove dependency on "ModConfigMenuLegacy" DLC. Now you can clean up the missing DLC errors. If you are getting a "missing DLC" error for "ModConfigMenuLegacy", just follow these instructions:

1. Load into the save (ignore the missing DLC warning)
2. Open the options menu, go into mod options, go into the MCM Legacy tab, and click the button to "Clean".
3. Save the game. The new save won't have the missing DLC issue.

Previous Update:

- Added forward-compatibility for WotC to this version of the mod, so you can run it from alternative mod launcher with both versions of the game. The regular game launcher will give you a warning, but it will work. This means (for the time being) that you can uninstall the WotC version and still have MCM for WotC. That said, if you are playing primarily WotC, I recommend using the mainline version.

NOTICE FOR PEOPLE REPORTING THAT THIS MOD IS CAUSING IN-GAME PROBLEMS:

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to report issues with MCM. It obviously sucks if the options menu, of all things, is what's breaking your game, and I'd like to get these issues addressed ASAP. However, it's next to impossible for me to test every version of every mod that also uses MCM, so I need your help as well to troubleshoot issues.

If you are seeing graphical glitches or problems transitioning between Avenger/Missions, please check two very specific details for me and let me know the result in your comment:

1. If you turn off all mods except MCM, does the problem still happen?
2. Does the problem happen only after you've visited the Options screen, only after you've visited the Mod Options screen, or regardless of whether you've visited either screen?

Because of how extensively MCM interacts with other mods and how certain UI components interact, these two details will help me a lot with pinpointing the problem.

Well I'm stumped. Here's what I've done:
1. Verify game files.
2. Delete XComGame/Config folder.
3. Launch the game with no mods enabled. It slows to <1FPS for several seconds as the main menu buttons slowly appear, eventually automatically switching to 1152x720 resolution as it returns to full speed. I exit immediately.
3. Launch with no mods enabled again. There's no slowdown this time. I change the resolution and exit.
4. Launch with only this mod enabled. It slows and automatically switches resolution again. The Mod Settings button does not appear in the options menu.
I'm using Alternative Mod Launcher, on Linux through Proton. I've saved the Launch.log for each of the three above-mentioned game launches if you want to ask about something specific in them.

@Raein - I cannot believe that this worked. Thanks!
Had both installed but only this one enabled - no menu button.
Quit out, unsubscribed from the other, launched the game again - menu button is there.

yo so I figured it out, it won't appear in the launcher menu unless you UNSUBSCRIBE from WOTC version of this mod

for anyone who wanna use any of mod but not seeing it enabled; you need to enable mods on 2k launcher. i thought my mods arent working until i had to enable with that launcher.

how to get the menu up

excuse me sorry to be a bother but the mod options button in the options menu isn't appearing.

This is probably a side effect of the mod being compiled for cross-compatibility (see the "previous version" patch notes). Is the 2K launcher preventing you from starting the vanilla game with this mod active?
Buddy ☩ 1 aug, 2022 @ 0:20
I am not sure why, but like others have mentioned. The 2K launcher is showing that WOTC is required to use this version of Mod Config Menu

Hey Guby. It's either Perfect Information, or Gotcha Again. But those two add-ons don't really play nice and I had to do an override anyways. I'm now just doing a light vanilla-ish playthrough of Xcom 2 without WotC and have been learning a few things about modding.

Everything over here works good. Just can't open. The menu at all. The view defaults to perfect information I think, so maybe that's the problem. Either way it isn't a big deal.

Love your mod.

Hi Kyrox, the white/green/pink flashing textures are most likely due to a mod that uses MCM, not MCM itself, and it's related to using MCM in a specific way that causes the game engine to not handle loading into/out of missions properly. One of the later bug fixes in MCM was specifically meant to reduce the chance that a mod can accidentally do this, and both versions include the fix.
