Beskrivelse
The Status Pod... Could heal you, could poison you, could throw pixels at you, could seed the ground with diamonds. But after a few activations, you've seen just about everything it has to offer, which quite frankly isn't very much.

This mod aims to correct that by expanding the effect and ore seeding capabilities of the Status Pod. Current improvements include:
  • Rebalanced vanilla ore seeding: In vanilla, silver could only happen on Tier 3+ and above worlds, while gold could only happen on Tier 5+, even though they are all on Tier 1 ore lists. This mod moves silver and gold down to Tier 1 to match the vanilla spawn lists. Diamond, vanilla spawn at Tier 5, was left unchanged.
  • Adds all vanilla ore types at appropriate tiers (and above):
    • Tier 1: Coal and Iron
    • Tier 2: Tungsten
    • Tier 3: Titanium and Prism Shards
    • Tier 4: Druasteel
    • Tier 5: Aegisalt, Ferozium, and Violium
    • Tier 6: Solarium
  • Fixed and enabled existing status effects that were commented out or never finished in vanilla files:
    • Rage: Same as Orange Chemists and Tonauac's blessing
    • Run Boost: Same as Green Stim Packs and Green Chemists
    • Low Gravity: Same as food made from Alien Fruit
    • Glow: Same as Yellow Stem Packs and Chemists
    • Bouncy: Causes the player to bounce off walls and floors on contact - negates falling damage, but can make platforming difficult (not everything in the Pod has to be 100% positive!)
  • Added additional effects, positive and negative:
    • Thorns (positive)
    • Nova (positive)
    • Swim Boost (positive)
    • Wet (negative)
    • Overload (incorrectly known as Electrified, negative)
    • Frost (negative, Tier 2+)
    • Tar (negative, Tier3+)
    • Slow (negative, Tier 4+)
    • Slime (negative, Tier 5+)
    • Doomed (negative, Tier 6)
  • Minor bugfix: Nova in vanilla is incorrectly displayed as "thorns" - this has been corrected to "Nova". This is purely cosmetic.

In vanilla, Status Pods have a positive effect chance of 57.1% for Tier 1-2, 62.5% for Tier 3-4, and 70% for Tier 5-6. This mod changes that balance to ~76% at Tier 1, scaling down to 71% at Tier 6, giving early exploration a small bonus. Take this into consideration if you feel this is unbalanced.

So far all mods I tried have worked without any kinds of "openstarbound comaptibility fix". There are some in the workshop, but I have not found any that is still necessary.

Thanks for reminding me that openstarbound is a thing. I need to keep an eye on that.

Nope. I avoid those. I tried things like Ethian races and Betabound, but they add too many things together. I am avoiding those too. I'd prefer if they made their components individual and got released as a collection so you can remove what you don't need.
I'd be even better if openstarbound added support for mod customization and you could go to the mod menu, select a mod, and see a list of checkboxes with all the categories of features like "race", "items", "equipment", "locations", etc, and uncheck the ones you don't want.
Alas, that is only a dream for now.

Not directly or intuitively, no. There's definitely SOMETHING removing it, in your case, otherwise this mod wouldn't be throwing that traversal.

One thing you can try: Look at your log and locate Expanded Status Pod Effects in the load order. Then check every mod that loaded before it.

Other than that, the big question: Do you use any full-game overhaul mods like FU? If you do, test them first.

Is there any way to know what mods affect a variable? I'd like to know if something else is removing 'count'.

Great mod, thanks for making it and sharing it with us.

i think you should include the random fountains in this mod as well because they operate exactly like status pods and share the same scripting

you can obtain the random fountains legitimately through oasis vendors, but currently there is a scripting oversight that breaks them.

i made a mod a while back intended to repair the random fountains myself, which you could borrow the fix from https://community.playstarbound.com/resources/random-fountain-fix.4883/

when they changed status pods to have a sound effect, they neglected adding one to the animation file for the fountains which uses the exact same scripting. and they fail to operate because the lua can't find a sound for it to play. the fix is as simple as adding a sound effect to the animation file(as i did in my mod)
