Anime dark souls with insane custom character creator. Bosses are hard, co-op is fun, weapons are ridiculous, I have no idea what gear and stats even do but they seem to be cool. Jiggle jiggle.

It's a really cool concept and a truly, genuinely scary game. If you don't mind or like to support early access, GET IT! If you want the game to run perfectly then don't! If you don't get it then definitely follow it cuz I feel it's gonna be a good one.

Pros: cool setup, weapons (no AKs or ARs, just bad ass 19th century weaponry), and some really well designed monsters. PvE and PvP all at once with little to guide you so it's open world also. Co-Op is fantastic, bring a friend. Wonderful immersion. Leave the music on, for once it adds to the ambience and isn't distracting.

Cons: It's glitchy *but that's why it's early access*. The games i've played on my 1080ti at 4k have been pretty darn good aside from the odd visual glitch here and there. My initial launch was a nightmare just in the menu but after a, alt+f4 and a reload it's been fine. It bluescreened my pal's machine once but has run fine since. And honestly all the in-game glitches were easily ignored.

Monstrers are a little stupid but they're zambies. You can usually cheese most of them from rooftops and the like.

What is THE main perk to playing single player? SAVING AND PAUSING. I opened my map while riding a horse because the game told me to. When I closed the map my horse was dead and three bad guys were stabbing me to death. The save system is nothing short of awful.

The combat is just awful: incredibly clunky and awkward. The introductory fist fight was embarrassing to watch. Arms and legs randomly jutting from the screen in what I assume was supposed to be a teaching moment but was completely lost on me due to the sheer bizarreness. Immersion lost. The sword fighting lesson was laughably short and I only completed it by accident I feel. The very first real fight I was in I feel I could have performed better IRL and I have a hard time sweeping my floor accurately. Eldar Scrolls-like combat it is not.

The story, graphics, voice acting, ambience, and all the intangibles were really good. I always skip story stuff in every game I play, just the way I am, but I caught myself watching the (MANY) cutscenes many times. I skipped a lot to keep my play time in under 2 hours in case of refund.

I have a little over 30 minutes in game. Was it enough to really give the game a chance? I don't know. I do know that the save system alone is enough to me make me refund this game. Replaying 30+ minutes of game because I forgot to save or because I couldn'y buy any save game potions is absolute insanity.

VERDICT - worth maybe $20-30 in it's current state. Redo the save system and I might give it another shot. A 3rd person view would fix so many problems!!!

Super cute, super easy, and super challenging if you wanna find everything every map. Outstanding artwork and sound effects.
