Doom Eternal is Doom 2016's bigger brother that likes arcades, neon colours and ADHD. There's a lot to like and then there's... a few other things.

First off: The game looks great. That being said the neon coloured pick-ups stick out like a sore thumb. I get why they were put in, but I'm not really a fan of them. The levels look great and offer a lot more than 2016's tech base and hell variety. Music and sound are also excellent.

The level design is... well... okay? There's by far too much platforming in the levels. It's not the cool vertical movement in the arenas of 2016, but rather an awkward atempt to include 3D platforming into Doom. It's bearable, but it does get annoying as it's just for the sake of it overdone. Secret hunting boils down to unlocking a few suit 'skills', so exploration is very much guided unless you don't invest in those abilities.

Next up is the 'stone paper scissors' approach to combat. Weak points on the bigger enemies *need* to be taken out first otherwise you are dead. This means that you have to learn which enemy to attack where with which weapon in which order. There are a few joker cards and variables, but overall the wild bashing of 2016 is gone and this seems more of a combat puzzle that is pretty unforgiving if you don't do it 'right'. Once you learn all the monsters and their weaknesses it gets better, but I'm not the biggest fan of the new combat system.

Overall it's a pretty good game (albeit the 'story' is a bunch of fanfic without any real meaning). The more 'abstract' look, the platforming and the very intense combat aren't exactly my cup of tea though. If you are looking for a really challenging fast paced shooter with platforming this game is surely for you. Otherwise I'd say to maybe watch a gameplay video first before buying it.

Edit: In Fallout 4 it was the 'Creation Club', here it's the Denuvo Anti Cheat. Just leave things alone after you publish them Bethesda...

While I'm not a fan of the crafting system and the rather uninspired cutscenes, overall I did enjoy Hero of the Kingdom III. It has grindy parts and the respawn system is far from being great, but it also means that you can figure out how to solve your problem rather than doing things exactly like the devs wanted in the first and second part of the series. So while you will backtrack most of the game towards the endgame you can actually pretty freely decide if you want to craft or buy your way towards the end.

The presentation is fine and the music fitting. It is longer than the other games in the series so far, but that's also due to a fair bit of grinding. If you liked the other games be aware that this game 'feels' slightly different. I would recommend getting it, but maybe wait for a sale.

Tedious. This is what it feels like to play Runefall 2.

First of all this is a level pack for the first game plus some QOL improvements. Sadly the most needed QOL improvement (being able to save a level and come back to it later) is broken. So you are stuck with playing 30 minute plus levels in one sitting. Since you only unlock new specials and the tiles are always the same it gets dull quick.

Also the cutscenes between the levels got a lot more lengthy and you have to either sit through a three minute plus dialogue or skip it completely.

It's not a bad game, but it certainly feels like quantity over quality. If you are really into match three games it's fine to grab it at a deep discount, otherwise I wouldn't recommend to get it.

First the game didn't want to start at all, then I had to 'repair' it after every cutscene. Might be a good game, but for sure noone cares about it anymore.

This is one of the worst hidden object/casual adventure games ever made. There's no story arch, the mini games are awful and repetitive (plus a good amount of them just involves guessing), the game randomly hangs for 10 to 15 seconds. The locations are random and the objectives are cryptic. Not even on a sale I would recommend this 'game'.

Hmm, this is a hard game to review. It is pretty decent and even not that short, but playing it without a map that indicates where to go next is painful. That only half of the dialogue lines are voiced is another 'interesting' choice. Otherwise the game is solid and quite fun to play. The ending is a bit week (actually the whole 'story' of the game), but it doesn't take away from the game itself. Wouldn't recommend it for the full price, but get the bundle with all games in a sale.

Well, the Resident Evil 2 remake was really good and I played it a lot. So when starting this game I had pretty high expectations. Let's say I wasn't disappointed.

Apart from the occasional samey level design (looking at you missions 14 to 16) and some pretty 'spongy' enemies at higher difficulties, this game is really well made. The graphics, music and art style are all spot on. The ending is a bit too cliff-hanger for my taste, but that doesn't make the game any less fun to play.

The three characters all feature unique abilities and techniques that require some solid investment to flesh out fully, but you really want to look at the missions again to find more fragments, secret missions and hidden spots plus challenging yourself to face the enemies at a higher difficulty that it doesn't become tedious. The game play is almost always on point and figuring out how to get a higher combat rating while trying your acquired combos and skills is a lot of fun.

A very solid action game that adds a lot of replay value and an interesting set of playable characters. I'd recommend getting the game if you like fast paced action games that are challenging, but not frustrating.

To be honest I'm not too familiar with the original game, so this review reflects the game I've played and won't compare it to its source material.

The presentation of this title is amazing. Both the visuals and the music/sound effects are great. The level design (the exploration) is also really good. That being said, the game isn't flawless. First of all the puzzle design can range from fun to utterly frustrating. I had to look up quite a few bits and for secrets that is fine, but not for progressing in the game. Also the combat can feel actually unfair. There are a few enemies that require lightning fast reflexes to not get hit (charging skeletons), but to be fair you can 'cheese' them using the enviroment.

Overall the game is a lot of fun especially if you like to explore and discover. Maybe not worth the full price, but get it in a sale and I'm pretty sure you'll not regret it.

If you ever wondered what it would feel and play like if you would mix Gothic with Fallout this is it. The game offers a pretty huge world and unlike other open world games it has a lot of interesting places to discover.

The visuals and music are very pleasant even if the graphics are a bit outdated for a 2017 game. That being said the style of the game makes up for that. The voice acting is solid and the quest design is good. Combat is a bit rough, but once you get the hang of it (and learn to use the environment to your advantage) isn't that bad.

Overall I can really recommend the game to anyone that enjoyed Gothic or is just interested in a good RPG. Especially on sale this game is worth every cent.

Who thought this up? Please, do us all a favour and leave it alone. This feels horrible. From the forced cutscenes, the blurry camera, the combat and the (now non-existing) exploration. If you really think about remaking Gothic, start again.

Edit: After playing this teaser I went and started Elex. Please THQ, let your team have a look at Elex and talk to PB. This would benefit this project a lot. Elex is a modern take on Gothic, so if you want to remake Gothic head into that direction.
