Civilization, a series I've played since the first one, I still feel Civ 2 was probably the best with the most replay of any

Civilization has changed over the years, mostly adding more dynamics, Civilization 7, in many ways feels like it has it all but they went with a different vibe, maybe it was to make it playable on consoles, doesn't mean its a bad game, but its not like some where you build 20-30 cities, here there seems to be a slight grind to it, but after restarting like 20 games, I have a better feel, at first I didn't like it mostly because I was reactionary in my game play/strategy.

First, something I kinda miss is worker units that run around doing improvements, I miss making roads/improving to rails, they seem to just exist now, not sure why they'd remove that, but something I miss.

Most of the "improvements" you did with workers seem to now be districts or just build outs from your city, at first I wasn't a fan, but now I enjoy it.

First number of games I played I was always put in the middle of 3/4 independents, whenever I saw them with warriors,I would try to out build them, this was stupid as early on, they've annoying but they're now out to take your town it would seem, most time, now that I realize it, they semi respond to the player and the AI, one game I spent everything making warriors just to be faced with 6 armies that just walked through all my units.

Then I realized you use influence to make them friendly, you gain a bonus and they stop messing with you, and eventually, you can integrate them and they become a town, and you can pay to make a town a city that you manage as part of your empire just like you founded it.

So independents, not new, we've seen it before, the dynamic does work, well balanced, though I feel they can spam you to death with units if you plan to try and head them on with a military.

Speaking of influence, you want to use it sparingly, the AI seems to know what you have and will spam you with offers, and of course you always want the equal benefit they get but it costs you influence, influence you can better spend on getting independents, but the AI always seem to know when you have it to spare and when you see "They will get 10% wonders construction bonus, and well, you get +1 gold per turn" you think, HEY I want that bonus.

Religion, I'm not sure of its value, if the city or town followed mine or not didn't seem to make a difference, and its annoying you cant stop the computer from just spamming your cities which you have to respond to if you care, then you have to move your guy around to find the hexagon you need to convert to get a full conversion. Seems like it can kind go, I didn't notice much if anything if it was one way or the other.

Founding cities vs independents, early game, much easier to get independents, but you can upset your neighbors but who cares, the a**holes could be asking you for alliance one turn and the next them and everyone else declares war on you, ironically if you have a far superior army, doesn't seem to dictate if they declare or not, but that's just my perception ATM.

First Age, war was pointless, again, independents, maybe a descent balance, Legions make a huge difference along with archers but AI and independents that are not friendly always seem to out build you, Antique age doesn't seem to last long, the age of discovery does last and its fairly fun, again this is where religion etc comes in, but I didn't see the the value add (Happiness but I mean, I just convert towns to cities and build "HAPPY THINGS" and problem solved).

Civics seem far more important with this Civilization, I know they always existed but now its like things don't move without them, which is fair, example, you select one that says +8 gold for this, but pay attention to "but causes -6 unhappiness" so balancing it is pretty good, I found a mix that works for me in game (Noticed once, one turn I had like +97 gold, got a cool sounding civic, applied it, research went up but noticed gold tanked to like +8). Civics are well done, I use to never really use them in the Civ series but I see the how they help here, I actually read them, old games Id just click anything not caring.

Towns vs Cities, as a town, to make it worth more or helpful, you spend your gold, gold that can better be used as savings in case you have a war and you can just buy units, so for me, towns seem to not make sense (yeah, a building costs $2000 gold, when I make $50 a turn, f off), so I convert everything to cities, seems to work out better for me, maybe others have different experiences. I personally found towns didn't benefit me enough, so I save up and always convert them, but here comes an annoyance, basically all CITIES become TOWNS again you enter a new age and the price goes up, I don't like that, and I feel its a strange thing to do, why, after spending all that time and money, make it so you have to do it again.

Tech, beautifully done, though once in modern age it seems to come fast and hard, meaning I was WW1 tanks and 2 turns later I had Panzers, then I had old prop planes, then I had heavy bombers, of course a Landship (Basically WW1 tank), had issues against Calvary units lol, which kind blew my mind, but this is an old thing who cares, but what bothered me the most about tech advancements, is when I finally had gunpowder, it seems everyone else follows, and I know they didn't have it but they had units that COULD use it, so seems like a weird "No one left behind" mentality maybe? As you move into an age, seems everyone follows (Though I noticed as I progressed, I had railways and they still had roads). So the tech tree and choices seem to be critical (meaning always make the right/best choice) but seems that sometimes or between ages, they just give everything to everyone, just they need tech to get wonders, but military wise, there seems to be some, they're just left one gen behind.

Which brings me to a bit more "technology" and "military", so when you enter a new age, all your units are auto upgraded to the min that age, they move them around randomly (I had 1/3rd my army go to a fishing city I had which it at the top right hand corner and took like 15 turns to get it to the borders with an enemy). Kinda miss getting gun powder and mowing down the swordsman.

The cultures, again its been done, I went with Rome and then Nordic, the bonuses were well worth it, culture for example seems to be very important, though I can't figure out why lol
Old games, culture would change and they'd join you, seems like this is missing, or at least I haven't seen a city change to me, my borders don't seem to budge much. So influence is there/culture but doesn't work like the old games.

My strategy in my recent game that's been going well was buildings that do production first, then research, followed by happiness and money, culture seems to keep people happy.

I noticed that resources were not required to build specific units, maybe I missed it, but when I entered the age of discovery every city could build any unit of any other city, I miss that where you had to use the workers to get roads built to get resources places in order to build specific units, so that seems to have been streamlined.

This is already long enough, the games is good, I've seen comments about "watered down" or "woke" or "missing things", really they just do things differently, to the woke comments, EARLY age leaders have better perks its that simple, some forum comments etc I even found over the line and offensive, it just has what I'd call a different vibe, think of humankind, that felt and played like a washed down version of Civilization meant for the masses (and very anti military), here Civilization maintains the paths it always has, the vibe is different.

The games great, worth it, learn it play it.

I played the original, the remastered and System Shock 2. I'm a huge fan of the franchise with the 1st being one of my all time favorite games (Ironically I remember buying this game as a kid, believe in an old kmart or zellers in the cheap bin).

So as a "remake" of the original, it does exceptionally well, the first system shock had a great story, immersive environment, music was good, sound was great, lots of visuals (i do recall not being a fan of the UI), as you discovered or moved around new areas were interesting and they were design to "want to explore", in the new System Shock 2023, they nailed that, you want to take the ladders, check the crawl spaces and open all the doors and look around, feels fun, feels interesting, so as a remake and as a 2023 release, they did capture everything from the original and remade it into what you have now.

Maps don't feel stupid and random, they feel like they make sense

Environments are immersive and interesting, they feel unique and related (What you do one one level can affect something on another level).

Sound is great, gives off the "creep"

Visually good game, hard to explain but I notice when you walk up to things close you see the pixels, if you load the original or the remastered, its the same, not sure if its on purpose to "see pixels" vs mostly "soft textures", but I actually like it, nothing looks bad, nothing looks cheap, everything looks fluid.

Fun, this is everything that makes a game, not many people wouldn't enjoy it, its entertaining, its engaging

Difficulty, based on how you set it, but on 3, some puzzles and some cyber instances left me cross eyed a few times

Cyberspace: they captured it, for me, not the most enjoyable part of the game, but it was well done

There's nothing missing, I'd recommend this game to anyone, for any reason.

Ragdolls are fun to watch, I swear I saw one doing MC Hammer out of a turret off screen.

Company of Heroes 3 offers a gameplay experience that is both familiar and fresh. The mechanics are similar to those of previous versions, but units perform their special abilities more quickly and move smoothly through the battlefield, resulting in faster-paced gameplay. Each faction in the game feels unique, with the Afrika Korps enjoying an early advantage but lacking comparable units in the mid-to-late game. The overall balance feels good, although players may find that playing as Germany puts them at a disadvantage early on compared to the Allied sides.

One of the most significant improvements in Company of Heroes 3 is the AI. Gone are the days of mindless spamming of mortars and artillery. While the AI is not perfect and can occasionally waste units, it can also be a challenging opponent, countering the player's units effectively at times. One area where the AI could improve is in creating chokepoints and defending them effectively. Nonetheless, the AI is a considerable improvement over previous versions of the game.

The graphics in Company of Heroes 3 are impressive and modern, with detailed and immersive environments and well-designed units. The visual effects, such as explosions and weather effects, add to the overall experience of the game. While there may be some visual distortions here and there, they do not detract from the game's quality. Players with high-end hardware will enjoy buttery-smooth performance and a more detailed and cleaner visual experience.

The sound design in Company of Heroes 3 is top-notch. The music fits the game's atmosphere and adds to the immersion of the player, while the sound effects are realistic and make the game more intense and engaging. If the player has a good sound setup, they can feel the rumble of explosions and tanks firing through their desk or floor. Overall, the sound quality is impressive and would be rated highly for an RTS game.

The single-player campaign of Company of Heroes 3 is engaging and challenging. The well-written story and varied missions make it an enjoyable experience. The difficulty curve is well-balanced, gradually increasing as the player progresses through the game. While there is a bit of monotony at times, with the use of the same map becoming repetitive, each fight feels unique enough, and the operations in the Africa Campaign are challenging and fun, with a great story arc. The Italian Campaign offers a similar level of engagement, but some players may find it linear.

The multiplayer aspect of Company of Heroes 3 is where the game truly shines. The matchmaking system is efficient, and the community is active, making it easy to find other players to compete against. There is a variety of game modes to choose from, and the gameplay is intense and exciting, providing a thrilling challenge for fans of the franchise and newcomers alike.

In conclusion, Company of Heroes 3 is an excellent real-time strategy game that offers a range of content, from engaging single-player campaigns to thrilling multiplayer battles. The fast-paced and enjoyable gameplay, impressive graphics and sound design, and active multiplayer community make it a worthwhile investment for any fan of the genre.

Brings a lot from the 1st back, thats good, graphics are good, its smooth, its complex, so it feels like a x4 without modern day dumbing down.

Worth the money yes

Fluid yes

Difficult, yes

So pros are simple, feels like x4, is an x4 and its not a watered down version for the masses, you can't really say more here.

Cons, so I'm missing something because about 90% of the time, nothing is going on, there is a story you can follow but for my, in 11 hours, it was really spread out. I feel there should be more "missions" or "stories", something that keeps you wondering. As you advance in tech, you get your normal "better ships, higher multipliers etc", but in the end, its you just basically doing what you want, when you want, for no reason other than doing it vs having a direction. Stellaris, had lots of story missions that just kept you going.

Crashes, had a few but nothing too crazy

Resource Management, its hit and miss, for some reason I was always out of steel, but I had plenty of it. Just more of an annoyance that delays things a bit.

Great game, I plan to play a lot more of.

There were better names for this game:

1.) Liberal Simulator: Basically, run around, steal from people and rob people’s homes, and move around like a d**khead and kill everyone who isnt agreeing with you
2.) Zombie Parkour Simulator: So much parkour but in a world filled with zombies
3.) The Last Conservative: Basically, because you're a conservative you must rummage for food and supplies because the world turned on you and you're not allowed to hold a job
4.) The Last of the Unvaccinated: World turned to zombies, you didn't get the jab, so you're left to survive
5.) Real Life Simulator: Everyone is liberal Zombie Karen’s and you run for your life in a world without guns :P

The game reminds me of daily life, while everyone else is a zombie, I run around just trying to survive, the mega Karen zombies want to kill you because you don't have your vaccine, or that you're the only straight male left, or because you don't have the jab :P

The game doesn't have guns, what kind of zombie games lacks firearms seriously?

I really enjoyed the first Dying Light, but this one, this one feels like some liberal "let’s not do guns because guns are bad", terrible concept, like literally absolutely trash.

As one of the largest game owners in the world, and the largest in Canada, I will say that I would ask for a refund, but I like collecting games.

Add guns and Ill return, until there, one of the five titles I listed above isn't a game I want to play, matches real life a bit too much.

GTA but not GTA, lots to do, options, many missions have more than one path to get there. Lots of talking, almost like watching a soap opera, many times I just run to the bathroom or watch ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, come back and they're still talking and going on about something, thank god for the skip option, otherwise it would probably take as long to finish the game as it took them to get it to us. Visuals are good, voice overs are great, I use a nVidia 3090 RTX, maxed everything 4k HDR, smooth as butter, HDR is really well done. Map is huge! Cars are not smooth as GTA, feels like you're driving a lego block around, sometimes on ICE. The AI isn't too stupid, it's actually pretty good, except the police, they just run out there some times, sometimes they take cover.

Overall great game, you'll spend more time masturbating than actually playing the game with the 3 minutes of game-play and 20 minutes of dialogue , min two monitors, one for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, one for the game, not like the conversations have much value.

BTW people are saying its really buggy, I can state that the 20+ missions in, no major bugs. I had one crash, and one weird thing where I randomly died driving and I hit a trash can.......I mean when GTA V was released I recall a lot of bugs, this is minor and most will be easily fixable, hardly makes the game unplayable. The cost is justified for volume of content.

Other cool things, its like GTA and Deus Ex had a kid, the hacking is kinda neat, rpg elements are good, the review of memories is cool, weapon attachments all adds to the "total experience". I have over 19000 games, few bring me back as I get older as a gamer, this is a new one that brought me back.

You get to play as keanu reeves, so thats worth at least a 1/3rd of the games total cost

Straight up it is a good game, feels like more of a "delivery simulation" then anything else but as a AAA title, not a B title.

Pros: Great Graphics, implements HDR, smooth as butter for me, intuitive, things to see and things to do. Story is in-depth and keeps you wanting to hear more.

Cons: I've spent more time watching cut-scenes then playing the actual game, seems where games are heading but if I wanted to watch a movie I wouldn't be playing a video game.

Regret buying like gas stop sushi? No, purchase feels more like a taco bell experience, you buy it, you enjoy the experience, but then its toilet time (aka CUT-SCENES NONE STOP).

Interesting game, I like the size and the units, many times you can change the course of a battle with strategic reinforcements, it’s a great game, you have those awesome and oh s**t moments.
I still feel some balancing is required, you play with bots and somehow you knock Bot A, then look over and your bot partner is long gone and the other bots already crushed your partner. Kinda sucks
Graphics, easily 8.5, not quite a 9, even at the highest res I felt that the graphics are a couple years old.
Sound is good when zoomed in.
Controls are good, not quite as smooth as I would like them to be though, sometimes not realizing you have units selected or twitch your mouse the wrong way and half your army is running off chasing an ice cream truck or something as they get molested at the front line.
Return fire, not sure why but a manual fire seems to reach a lot further, possibly my recon isn’t seeing something but the return fire just kinda seems to stink and lack distance.
Overall great RTS

I was always a big fan of the Tropico games, the last one I wasn't crazy about though. The new one I played while it was an Early Release, there were bugs but it was well done. Upon release I put in another 4-6 good hours, I personally found it worth its money, the engine/graphics are great (dont forget to up the pop cap though in the settings menu).

Only big bug I'm finding is the rebels, even with happiness 60-70+, I still randomly get rebels for some reason.

As a sequel, I find it did a great job, it feels like Tropico but it feels like a new game, performance is good, building and going through the time lines is great. Ever since SimCity was pretty much lost, this is a near perfect replacement.

To start with I'm bias, huge Rick and Morty Fan and I like the creators work, style and sense of humor. Over 2 hours in. tested the VR Version on HTC Vive Pro, gotta say, its fun, different and weird but I'm enjoying it. The humor is Rock and Morty like, the voice acting is perfect (Wish I heard more Rick). The game play is fun, story is different. Everything works, it flows and its one of those rare ones that kinda brings me back to games. Over 16k games and I rarely play anything, speaks for itself.
