I would advise you to play it offline or semi offline. Playing online rips away this great immersion of being a lone survivor in this apocalyptic scenery and it also gets to easy when most of the roads are already built. I went online after i completed the main story. Quickly i rolled back to a semi online savegame, were i don't see other players buildings and signs etc.

I played this game after it got cracked... for hours... and hours... and hours. I said to my inner self: "You have to press F to pay respect". So I bought it on steam and played it for hours... and hours... and hours again. See? Game piracy isn't an issue. Bad publishers are. Nevermind. It became one of the best games i've ever played since i started 1994. I feel like i could burry another 120 hours in this game. You have to play at least 10 hours to get into it.
