Early Access has never felt so nostalgic and (mostly) balanced.

I've been a huge fan of id since I got my first copy of Wolfenstein 3D early on in my gaming career, and boy have they been on a hot streak during the past year! DOOM was one of the most refreshing single-player experiences I've had in a while; the aesthetics, the glory kills, and that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masterpiece of a soundtrack made a lasting impression as to what a triple-A game shoudl strive for. That being said, the multiplayer sucked; and that's where Quake Champions shines.

If you're looking for an arena shooter for the modern gamer, look no further. My only complaint is that the lightning gun paired with quad damage is absurdly effective, but even then it's not enough to keep me away from this adrenaline-fueled dream of a shooter.

TL;DR - id and Bethesda have outdone themselves yet again with Quake Champions. 10/10.

why did I buy this game

Pros:
-refreshing gameplay
-balanced games
-the ability to kick players
-competative vibe
-colorful community

Cons:
-ranking to Level 3 is basically a pain in the ass
-casual mode is cancer
-expect russians screaming at you
-expect your teammates kicking you for not clutching
-when your connection to a competative game fails, you get a cooldown
-gambling runs rampant
-scammers are everywhere

Overall watch out for scams, play with headphones, and have fun. Communicate with your teammates in comp, and mute them in any other gamemode.

If you've played it before, this purchase should be an easy decision. For those who haven't played this marvel before, I highly reccomend it. Simplistic design, excellent balacing, and a multitude of servers all make this game worth USD $10. Also it's 8 years old, but still manages to excite both new and returning players in the thriving COD4 community.
