This game boils down to being a casual CS:GO clone with COD elements that is for some reason set during WW2.

There are 6 primary guns and one secondary gun to choose from. Gunplay isn't really all that great, spraying feels floaty. There's little to no movement inaccuracy or jumping inaccuracy. As a CS player who has played COD fairly casually, I'd say COD does everything this game does, but with more depth.

Due to absolutely throwing all customization out the window and limiting your weapon choice to almost nil, I have to give this game a negative review. If you like casual shooters it'd be worth the buy for $10, imo. Not $16 or $20.

I have ~100 hours in JC3 and never ended up finishing 4.

It just feels really meaningless and has a lot of big issues. The weather system is just annoying, and there's no base/area capture anymore.

5 is in progress, and I really hope they make it more like 3.

After dismissing this game as an uninspired crash grab of a sequel initially, I revisited it recently and found that I actually really like it. The pacing is definitely slower compared to HR if you are a completionist and do all the side quests like me. The side quests tend to be dialogue-heavy, they are mostly very well written but don't have all that much content gameplay-wise. The main story is paced fine, but it is definitely not as well-made as many of the sidequests.

The game as a whole is very very similar to DXHR. It plays more like a remastered DLC than a true sequel, merely rehashing mechanics from HR with a graphical facelift. There are a couple new abilities that you're able to unlock with some story progression, but they don't really change how you play the game. That being said, it's still damn fun to run around as Jensen with his mecha-augs and play the game stealthily, rambo style, or a mixture of both.

This sequel is definitely not as bad as it seems to be rated; a follow up to an experience as amazing as Human Revolution would be a very difficult thing for any studio to create, which is why I think this game gets panned by a lot of people. It is absolutely worth buying if you liked Human Revolution.

Absolutely stunning action game. Story is lacking, but that isn't the focus. It takes what made JC2 great and pushes it to a whole new level. Could use some more world building/interactive things to do in the world.

Definitely worth a buy at $30 or anywhere under that.

Early Access Review
This game has been on Steam for a full two years now. Aside from the """backend updates""" that are ever-so-present in this genre of early access games, there hasn't really been much to show that the game is as old as it is.

It had amazing potential when I bought it, I used to play early builds of it offline when I didn't have internet access. The development really has seemed to stagnate over time, I wouldn't recommend buying it until the game is either firmly on its way to completion or fully completed.

Update: Well, it's mid 2020 now, and this game hasn't progressed whatsoever. Avoid at all costs haha
