I really enjoyed my first 10 hours of play time. Then I found out all the DLC doesn't expand the story mode. That was a huge let down. I'm kinda mad I only got this at 50% off. I should have waited for a bigger discount.

-No real Transformations
-Close to cheating AI on Hard, even at level cap vs non-level cap. and AI being able to continue combos while youre on the ground so long as your pinkie toe is still sticking up like it put its dukes up and said bring it ♥♥♥♥♥.
-Serious lack of special abilities(Frieza makes me sad asf tbh. No death beam)
-No CAF(not a huge issue but the main boss looks like my Majin from Xenoverse 2 :D)
-Too much focus on PVP, but not at the same time.. like they left brokenly OP stuff and left others useless.
-No way to escape combos
-Not enough playable characters, too many DLC, basically you buy the game twice.
*-A lot of characters have absurdly broken combos, which turns into a + once you learn them

+Story thats actually different
+Flashy graphics
+Japanese and Eng dub voices
+Destructive environments
+Dramatic events(There are far too few IMO but its still a +)

-/+ Spam buttons and do the thing

6/10, get it on sale like i did. But more t han 50%. This game isn't worth 60$ by a long shot.


30 hour Edit:
The only consistancy in the game i've found is that the AI on Hard Arcade doesn't have an air combo or normal combo damage regression. Kid Buu just comboed me from 90% full health to 0 in one Ultimate Move combo which at the end was 130 hits. The AI Shouldn't have a drastic damage advantage over the player. The only reason this game has high reviews is due to the game being flashy. I love all things DBZ but I'd rather play Famicom DBZ games. Broken AI =/= Challenge.

It goes against Everything DBZ that you can't break a combo, especially ones so high. After reading and then performing how to Infinite people in corners with specific characters, I can't help but lack the understanding of why the developer hasn't patched these out or introduced the ability to break combos, at the very least with support characters. This is the first time i've ever regretting purchasing a DBZ title. I just want the Non-Online achievements because ive already been a part of cancerous game communities online. Just pick the 3 spammable characters and spam your medium attack until you're done. Boring as hell.



Edit: 100h After waiting several years, I came back to see if they fixed anything. Nope. In fact they made it worse with paid DLC being extremely OP online. Which has attributed to the death of the game. Several thousand people playing online scattered all over the planet mean extremely long(30-60m) queue times. Most of my game time is now waiting on a ranked match just to get the achievements. Using a VPN helps but it makes match making worse than it already is sometimes. Save yourself a headache and don't bother with it unless youre like a lot of us and just straight up DBZ fans and non-canon story doesn't bother you.

First of all, I'm not writing this because i died. In fact at 20h, i haven't died in PVP yet. So!

Seems fairly okay. This type of game needs achievements. There's no real progression feeling. It gets stale during the training. Developer has too much of a raging hardon for "don't get damaged" objectives. I got it for free and would be the only way I would recommend it.

Pros:
-Behead everyone!
-Nice graphics


Cons:
-Ubisoft Matchmaking Netcode
-Overly clunky/bulky feeling
-Turtler's wet dream
-Easily abusable mechanics

I feel this game is incomplete. There's a metric ton of things they could incorporate and tweak to make this so much better.

Example: Cleaving left/right strikes shouldn't be avoided by strafing(not rolling) in the same direction(maybe this is a bug?) I can abuse this so fluidly and it makes no sense that strafing to my left can dodge an attack coming from the right. Stance changing needs to be more sensitve. At least release achievements for some feeling of progression. Otherwise, there's no real point passed getting TCs for most players. It gets stale quickly.

Previously, I left a bad review. Dev had been idle for so long I figured it was another dead game. But, what did they fix??

One of the biggest issues I had previously were achievements NOT popping when they should have(my tracking was stuck at max). But as soon as I started a new save, everything started popping.

It feels better too.

Ive run this on 3 different platforms excluding my original playthru on Xbox 360.

I cannot find any reason for so much hate on this game. Its easy on easy and fun all around. I just think the majority of the online gaming community is just a bunch of angry, spoiled children these days. On sale or full price. Have fun murdering everything that moves.

10/10 would throw a civilian Dragon Ball Z style into the sunset again.

Recommending ONLY IF YOU MOD THE GAME

No new changes announced and the last major update was years ago. HBS has left the game in the hands of mod-makers. Who are sadly, doing a bit better of a job with features..

However, the best BT mod isn't on Nexus. You have to look up Mods In Exile(discourse). This is where BTA can be found.

Still, this game has and will forever have massive delays in game with the AI taking its turn.

That being said, I wanted to just go nuts with altering the game. The ways you can mod this game(and break it) are pretty amazing.

BACKUP YOUR WHOLE ASS GAME BEFORE YOU MOD

If you don't back up the whole directory, at least backup folders you're editing.

Turning a Thunderbolt 20 into an LRM 20 with AOE is real friggin cute until you run into an AI BTA Mech with it already installed :')

Most F2P games get a lot of players who haven't played the series. This is one of them. There's a lot going on that you just get hot dropped into. No intro. Here's a gun and the options menu, good luck.

There is no "ease in". Matchmaking is a cluster ♥♥♥♥. No ranking... meaning there's no telling what rank players you'll play with. Lots of TKing even in the PVE. Which PVE gives you next to nothing. Cool. Yet another "hardcore pvp" game that tried to rip off a AAA title. Same dev but.. k.. This is NOT what you want to play if you want to get into the Arma series. This is atrocious.

Not a big MOBA fan. But I tried to give this a shot.

Pros:

-Pretty
-Easy Controls
-Not Overwatch(Dafuq is with all the reviews comparing it to such?)



Cons:
-Not much of a story
-Trash Netcode
-Inability to Hot drop(if someone DC's no one is to repalce them making the game one sided every time)
-Most all points come from PVP (Meh)
-"Leveling" is in match, so unless you get a free moment or you die, only then can you really set your attribute points. Because youll just stand there like a sitting duck.
-Massive waiting simulator for lobbies. I wait 8-10 minutes for PVE games. PVP was 15+.
-Average PBase is only 600-900 on at any given time, 8k at its absolute peak back in July. Meanwhile the community monthly has been cut in half. 8k, to 4k now to 2k. It dropped 37% in the last 19 days. let that sink in fan boys.

There's better "Free to Play" games out there... Much much better.

Feels like Brink slept with another game and it made this game. Even if it's free... Nah i'm good.

Yesterday, I found the Demo for RE7. Creepy. Nice. Ambient! Man. 60$ price tag for a rather short game from what i've read online... IDK.... I'll think about it. Not like i don't have the Steam $ saved up.. But eh.....

10 minutes after finishing it, Capcom put the whole franchise including RE7 sale for half off. I don't need an in game indicator to tell me that this is a sign from RNGesus and I need to listen. Actually, I would have bought it now that Ive played a bunch of the game for the full price. I never pay full price and i've only preordered 2 games my whole 25 years gaming..(I iz old :\)... Which was WoW: Legion, and Halo: Anniversary(just because).

20/10 would get my hand cut off and drug through a swamp and miraculously not catch any diseases and immediately retain full use of my severed limb after being reattached...

you got 4 points for simple yet indepth game strats. I actually like the pixel art. You lost points due to there being no bracket it seems in the PVP ladders. You could go up against a new player like yourself, have a good game, learn something... or a person with a really great deck and it doesn't become fun. You don't learn the game from being kicked in the teeth so fast you don't have time to read what your opponents cards do, as there is a paywall in this game. I have yet to see a lot of my PVP opponent cards in drops/practice. If this didn't have such an annoying match making system, I'd be able to give it a thumbs up :\
