Fortunately, I was one of the lucky ones that didn't encounter the crash I've read in the reviews. (Maybe because I have an older computer?) Although, there is a glaring lag between scene transitions that did mildly irk me since I've rarely come across these kinds of pauses in HOGs.

Surprisingly, there isn't much to say about this game. The story was interesting enough, and so were the backgrounds. I think what broke the immersion for me was the poor voice acting and stiff character art.

I definitely enjoyed the dual view thing, but I agree that it could have been utilized more. Surprisingly! I enjoyed the HO scenes a lot more than the puzzles, for once. (It's a very rare thing, so it's definitely a feat.)

It's...pretty subpar. I'd hate to not recommend it since there isn't anything particularly broken about the game BUT...

It's outdated, there are a lot more better looking, better functioning games at its price. It's hard to convince someone to get it unless they're the type that prefers a much larger ratio of Hidden Object scenes to puzzles. I'd say there's about 95% HO scenes. It's chocful of it, although the items you look for are too easy to find and/or repeated throughout the HOs. Keep in mind, there are puzzles in this game too, not just HOs.

The graphics did not age well at all, with the background so poorly stretched across my monitor---it wasn't hard to differentiate which objects were clickable from the BGs, which made the challenge pretty much vanish. But again, there's so many HOs so if you're looking for a time waster, I suppose this will do...?

I feel like the lack of direction, since there's no "journal" was easy to forgive since all you have to do is pretty much follow the arrows and click anything that glittered. Still, there were some minigames where I had no idea what to do to solve it. It turns out you actually HAVE to click "HINT" in order to figure out the instructions to a mini-puzzle. There are 2-3 puzzles there that don't make sense at first glance.

Overall, I'm not sure. I probably wouldn't have gotten it outside a bundle, it's just too low quality in comparison to so much more many new ones. But I also feel like any developer should get as much support as it can to continue improving and providing good games. I guess if you're more of a quantity over quality type of HOG gamer, you'll definitely get your HOs worth with this.

This was a nice li'l gem for its price. The hours you play definitely satisfies it. I think what pleased me most was the 3D graphics. It was pretty clean and well-made. I wish I could say the same for the 2D cutscenes, if images were difficult to draw, mayhaps a pantomime/shadow puppet motif would look much nicer?

PROS:
> 3D HOGs! 3D environment! It's a breath of fresh air especially I hadn't noticed any glitches to it, which often indie 3D games suffer from.
> I love the ambient music, pretty soothing to listen to!
> I admit it gave me a Nintendo DS nostalgic kind of 3D feel to it. Nice and compact.
> The story was pretty simple! The ending was cute. C:

CONS:
> There's a bit of ambiguity on where to go next. It does say "look for the key!" in the objectives but I never would have imagined to go to areas I've already been to to access a newly opened HO scene. This was especially notorious towards the end where you've opened all areas, you'd never think to go back.
> Just a minor gripe, in the sailing mini-game, I would often accidentally click out of the puzzle when I steer too hard. I ended up having to do the puzzle twice since it resets the timer.
> Haha, like other reviewers said, the logic in this game is a bit silly and it ended up making the main character kind of ditzy.

Overall, it was pretty lovely for a first time HO game from the developers! I would love to see more from them if they ever choose to make another! It'd make a nice addition for any HOPA enthusiast!

First things, first. It has the potential to crash just like the other reviews stated. While I do recommend the game, it's more of play it at your own risk, given it is buggy. I was fortunate enough that I encountered no bugs until the third arc of the main story. It crashed twice but it was easy enough to just boot again. Nothing was particularly lost.

I did experience my item bar disappearing after I booted up a crashed game but I managed to recover it by opening the map and then closing it.

The main story was simple but it had moments where it was hard to follow, only because I feel like there should have been text but not all of them popped out for me specifically. I was only surprised to find some additional dialogue in the diary.

PROS:
> It's a beautiful game. The music and visuals are probably the reason I can recommend this game. Even the backgrounds for some of the HO scenes were beautiful. I felt like they put a lot of soul into the designs.
> The map was beautifully done, plus it acted as a notifier and had fast travel. Like the map alone had its own animations. Probably the prettiest map I've seen in any HO game I've played.
> I liked the double-transforming objects in the HO scenes, they spiced up the hunt!
> I also liked the building/puzzling HO part where you find objects to unlock the item you need.
> Basically, I liked the mini games for this game too (even though the ballerina torch puzzle gave me a migraine!)
> Nice animated puppet cutscenes!
> I like the theme, and the designs for the world and puzzles are so clever!

-----> Overall, this game had the super potential to be something great. I felt like the quality of the visuals and the puzzles could definitely *guaranteed* contend with bigger HOG developers out there.

CONS:
> It's bugged. No doubt about it, it has some glitches and I did say I crashed more than once. I didn't super bother me personally but it's simply inexcusable since people pay to play this.
> Some objects were pixelated/blurry against a lot of HQ artwork. It's too obvious that it's hard to forgive. It's just not nice to look at.
> The hitbox is too wonky. Often times, I'd click a space and still get the object, sometimes it's like trying to thread a needle with how accurate you have to be to click an object (I struggled so hard to get the rose and its stem was the hitbox, not its rose head).
>>> The hitbox for the puzzle scene is also wild. As another reviewer pointed out, they were wayyyy to the side of the screens or close to the interface bar or so out of field you would never think to click there. It was a struggle to get through some of these scenes without the help of the hint button.
> Some items hardly sparkled despite being in Casual mode. I had to do a lot of backtracking and clicking around to figure out what else I missed.
> Some of the 'reading material' cannot be read. An example would be ingredients for the ritual, even though you can personally tell what they were, it just kind of sucks that you can't check.
> The character models were silly, I'm sorry. The adult voices for the children didn't help at all. The animation during the cutscenes were nice, but the children's faces were so blank and generic (like a Unity asset), it felt really cheap compared to the background art.

-----> Overall, the puzzles may or may not drive you nuts. The technical issues are strong in this one, if the story and visuals don't impress you, then I just suggest you pass on this one. I would not recommend it at its price given how it's broken. Unless they aim to fix these problems, please wait for a sale.

This game is fairly new, and I loved the Collector's Edition of it, it felt pretty full so I hope they love their creation enough to tinker around with it while making a new project.

This was surprisingly fun. I'd say it's more puzzle based with some hidden object elements. And though I say hidden object, it's more of silhouette hunting with other mini-tasks! Pleasantly surprised with the detective elements, quite frankly I didn't think this would have it. I came in playing this game with blind (and low) expectations BUT I love detective solving so it's all good! It was very interesting!

I felt like the last 2 of 3 murder cases were quite rushed compared to the rest, I had a feeling they wanted to make it big, and do more with the environments but had to cut back for some reason. There's a bathroom area where you only pick up one item and poof, that's it. Nothing else, no HO scene, no mini-games, nothing. Just pick up one (1) object. It was odd. Would be a waste to ask an artist to create this entire background for that one single purpose of clicking something in a half second and leaving forever. As someone who works with graphics, this is way too sad, haha! (Please pay your art department well!)

PROS:
> Crime-solving! You get to solve 3 different murder cases and you gather evidence and make conclusions (think of AM's Enigmatis series)
> Bright colorful sceneries of 1920's Europe! There were lots of areas! Pretty chocful!
> Kudos to the design team for making so many bits of papers and receipts, bits and bobs. Always appreciate people who try to use immersive typography! (Drink when you see generic fonts in HO games, you'd lose...)
> Fast-travel maps!

CONS:
> Somewhat weak character models haha! I guess this would double as a comment about weak characters (what was the purpose of some of them? They only delivered one (1) piece of information and that's their entire role).
> The minigame with the engineer broke my brain! I can't math at 4am!
> A loose hitbox! I found myself accidentally moving/leaving areas or looking at the wrong spot because the hitting space might be too wide. Often times, even though I've collected all the items available, the spot can still open up. It's confusing because I thought I haven't collected everything.

Overall, good job! I was really surprised. I didn't actually think this was a detective game, so really that was fun for me. I love anything "investigative". I look forward to more games from Icarus Games if ever, as I noticed this game was made in 2014. Definitely recommend for people who prefer mini-games over HO scenes in HOGs.

It's one of those times a neutral button would have come in handy. I couldn't NOT recommend this game because all in all, it's not broken or hard to play or anything, just very very disappointing. It's quite a letdown if you've played the first two games in the trilogy.

Even though the first games were outdated with graphics, they were still fairly visually sound. The Hidden Object scenes in this one were just...really sad to see. It felt very much like a cut and paste stockphoto mess which I do tolerate in other games, but having played previous titles from Gogii, it just left a very bad taste.

The interface was also a letdown, as were the backgrounds. They were so detailed, it became hard to differentiate which area was of clickable interest. The interface was surprisingly so basic looking compared to the backgrounds. Such a hodgepodge of way-too-fantasy and way-too-stockphoto.

The plotline was...okay. It was very short, I would have enjoyed the plot more if there had been more conversation.

The mini-games were far too simple in its design, I appreciated some variety but it was just so very not pretty to look at...

They took out the "Area Cleared" notifs! Why! They were so useful! They were the best part that Artifex never utilized! So upsetting! They also took out 'use ability' notifs too!

The voice acting was...subpar. Fairy sounded sped up and Prince Adam's voice actor's mouth sounded too close to the mic, you could hear his breathing and spitting sound. I'll give an award for Owl's voice though, he sounded as regal as he should be.

I don't know the reasons why the quality just fell apart for Gogii, was there no time? budget restraint? lack of motivation? Whatever it is, the result was sad to experience.

It's hard to make a review for this one. I agree with the others saying its predecessor held more entertain value. It wasn't bad, though it's hard to say why I felt like it wasn't as good either.

It felt a bit rushed, the story is split into 5 chapters---4 murders in 4 different locations. There wasn't much time to digest each specific event, like we were quickly ushered from chapter to chapter only after dipping a single toe into it. The story itself was simple though that it ended up like we were wasting time in every investigation since the murders only gave a teaspoon of development before the 'grand reveal'.

I think my largest gripe is the main character, Owen or rather his voice actor. He shouted, and it was physically painful to listen to. The others were alright but he raises his voice so often out of nowhere that it was grating to listen. I understand a parent being concerned for their child but his yelling was the equivalent of an old man being salty at the sun. Owen, chill.

The bonus chapter was the best part of it though. I had a much more enjoyable time with it than the main story.

I'd recommend it for anyone who'd like HOGs but aren't expecting too much. It has a plot that feels very concluded. It's very middleground and worth some actual money compared to other HOgames I've played at least.

The mixed reviews had me concerned but I actually really enjoyed this! It's definitely one of the better Gogii games, in fact, I think I might've liked it more than other AM games.

PROS:
> Beautiful visuals, especially the HOs! They were real images I think, but they went very nicely with the also near-real looking backgrounds! They aren't too skewed so they looked like they really belonged together with each other. The images were also fairly sharp to me, so honestly I'm just pleased with the overall visuals for the game!
> Spellcasting and brewing! A fun addition that I never expected from a HOG
> An interesting premise, I was curious how things would have turned out

CONS:
> Unappealing character models ): They were oddlooking or just plain unmemorable
> Lack of character---everyone was just very one dimensional and only existed to lead Lillian to the next location
> Lack of a journal and notes to recap and clarify the story (I feel like they replaced the journal feature with the spellbook)
> Major cliffhanger! Like others have said, it finishes off with a 'To Be Continued'
> Lack of mini-games! I suppose they considered the spells and brewing to be minigames but still... (Although I wouldn't want a repeat of that billiard ball minigame)

Overall, as a game, it was fun and it was pretty and polished looking but as a plot there could have been so much more done to it. It definitely has potential if the group ever chooses to continue the saga. As of current, I read the dev team has left Gogii. Apparently, this game originally was supposed to be a longer complete story but it was cut in half due to time restraints.

This was fairly fun, I thought mostly of my goddaughter while I played it. It's pretty whimsical and Disney-like with its story. It has very outdated graphics though but a child probably wouldn't complain too much for it! The voice acting is actually pretty good (again, by HOG standards)!

As with usual old games, there was a bit of struggle trying to fit everything to widescreen, I ended up using the window mode which thankfully worked---at the cost of having the HOscenes shrunken down. It became a bit more of a struggle. Especially since some objects were very particular with how close the cursor is to clicking it. I think the hardest was picking up the piano wires, literal 1px strings to click over. Small and thin is unpleasant.

The mini-puzzles were also pretty alright too, ranging from very easy to normal. Despite it being short, I definitely would say they've packed as much variety as they could. And as always, Gogii Games is nice enough to have those "Area Cleared" signs!

I think I might let my goddaughter play this when she comes over from summer vacation. There's a bunch of objects a 10-year old might not know, so it might be a good way to learn new vocabulary. It definitely feels like it's directed more for children, so I'd recommend it for children.

It was short and sweet! I'd say one of the greater ones in term of playing/game mechanics! I think this is one of the more purer HOGs, more of HOS than puzzles.

PROS:
> "Area Cleared" notification--- It's heaven sent and relieving to know when done is done! Thanks!
> The story was interesting! The dialogue wasn't tedious!
> Ghost Realm! Nice creative idea!

CONS:
> Pretty short! I finished it within 2 hours.
> The visuals are heavily outdated, I doubt they'd come back to play around with this but wouldn't hurt to hope!
> Needs more different puzzles!
> Full screen was pretty stretched and kinda messed with my other programs, just a minor gripe
