It feels like a demo of a game that has never been released.

Plus, devs lose time working on an editor when the game seriously needs more content and improvements... a waste of a game full of potential. :(

@coffee_whale : To me, it's like the game lacks of different ways of entertainment. Let me explain this to you. For some reason, this game reminds me of Spore. Spore was fun, because there is the part where you have to develop your own creature (first phase), then you have to develop your civilization (second phase), then you have to develop your own empire in the space! (third phase). All these three phases, are quite different from each other and offer different ways to have fun within the game.
But what "Before We Leave" offers? Building and management on a planet. That's it. No enemies to confront, no storyline, no sense of expansion in the space (the universe is super limited in this game), there is literally nothing that distracts you or in any way involves you to continue to build and manage your colony/civilization.

I really mean the words I said, this game could be a BIG game, but it needs more work in my opinion. No one likes repetitive games. As a plus, I didn't like much you're already selling out at 40% your game. I paid the full price to support you and because I believed in this game... putting a 40% it's just like saying "heyyy, take this game now before it will be forgotten!!"... and don't tell me it's not like that.

IF, and a big IF, the game and the direction with it will change in the future, for sure others and me will change their reviews into positive ones...

Early Access Review
Hexia is a little strategy game with a narrative component, developed by Black Mastiff Studio, a team formed by two italians.

The current version requires a little bit less than 1 hour to complete the only campaign available, but it gives you a strong idea on how the game works, in the current stage. You need to complete objectives, investigate on other kingdoms and face several threats.

At the moment the game is very easy, and you cannot do much, but considered it's still in early access, let's see how it progresses, as the game really have potential to be a very simple but fun strategy game. :)

Okay,
if you're thinking to start this game because maybe you're busy and you want to make a few achievements in the background with minimal clicks on screen, don't.

1) Game is not a normal idling game. It requires attention, constant attention, otherwise you won't progress.

2) There are some achievements that are actually IMPOSSIBLE to achieve.. oh well if you don't pay real money, at least. For example, on the achievements is "Reach Lv.30 with a scientist". It seems easy, if it wasn't for the fact that scientists always die constantly even with 3%/4% of death and if you want to resurrect them.... you need to pay REAL MONEY (tickets, in-game currency). Oh and this was included in the last update, before you couldn't even resurrect them.

3) In different moments you will be stuck waiting for the next upgrade, since it isn't well coded and at some point game won't give you the resource you most need.

I don't even know why I even tried this game.. what was on my mind? XD

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the first chapter of Age of Empires, in all means, but this has some HUGE problems that make me impossible to review it positively.

The most annoying thing, is the movement of formations.
Units always go to different areas instead of where you're actually clicking it for moving them, making it so frustrating to execute an attack or anything similar.

Second, units get stuck sometime, making them impossible to move. This can often lead to lose those units if the enemy is attacking them.

All the rest is quite acceptable... and if it wasn't for the two problems I previously described, I probably would be very happy to recommend this game positively.

But at this stage, I suggest you to avoid it and go for the second or third chapter.

Thank you for reading this! :)

**FIRST IMPRESSION after 8 hours**
..with an MSI RTX 2080 and Ryzen 7 3800XT (32GB Ram)

So let's sum up my first impressions.
Today, at the time of this review, game is absolutely playable and enjoyable.

From a gameplay perspective, I really enjoyed what I saw. From the beginning you start to build your own story, defining your background and making a few minor and important choices that will shape your character. Customization is also great: the game allows you to personalize even the smallest details of your body, even those ones you rarely touch in any other games (who played already this game knows what I'm talking about, hehe). Immersion in this futuristic environment is absolutely gorgeous! Everything is so well polished and alive, letting you feel a part of what the world really is in Cyberpunk 2077. A few tutorials and concentration are recommended to learn the basics, but nothing so complicated or boring. You will master all the techniques in no time.
Minor bugs are still in the game, but nothing game-breaking.

From a technical perspective, I don't think we still reached the best optimization this game could get. with everything enabled at max settings (RTX ON), with my specs (listed above or in my profile for full specs) I reached 30/40 fps. The most concerning thing, is when I disable the Ray Tracing, since I start to get only 70/80 FPS, and I say concerning because I was expecting something a bit better.. but I'm not complaining, since I know it could run much worse than this. However, if you play this in a "smart way" setting everything enabled, no ray tracing and reduced post processing stuff (which I reduce everytime because I just hate those effects), you are guaranteed to reach 100/120fps and even more in certain situations, which makes the game really smooth and that's how the game should run.

CONCLUSION:
If you're just scared to buy the game because it just launched and it could be broken, relax. As I said, game is totally playable and enjoyable, so go grab it, and reach Night City to start your adventure ASAP! <3

To be honest? Even today, I don't understand the hype for this game.

I played a few hours alone and with friends, and I don't see any form of engagement. The game is boring, very boring. You can't do much inside the game, and 80% of your fate in the game is based on luck.

There is no point to play with friends, since the overall experience is basically almost identical.

It feels like an early access free to play game to me.

Recommended only to kids, maybe on a Nintendo Switch?

Apparently even Techland went into money grabbing mode.

Less than 1 hour of gameplay at this price it's a little bit too much demanding. I wanted to support them for what they did with DL1, but it's so hard with this behaviour!!! :/
