Bought the game since the DLC system was now simplified to ease of use. Turns out it's not. If you do not buy the 'deluxe edition' DLC then you do not get access to any of your content from H1 or H2. IOI is already a pretty consumer unfriendly company, but expecting a 30 buck ransom for content you've already bought is simply not okay.

In a way this game has ruined every other physics game for me because as far as I am concerned this is the new standard all other physics puzzles are now judged on.

The game is a series of cute and often simple puzzles you can solve in creative ways. No gameplay element overstays its welcome and the developers did really well in making sure the pacing of the game gets switched up just when it's needed. It's a little short, but in a way that has left me wanting more rather than feeling dissatisfied.

Tuxedo Labs is high on my list of developers to keep an eye on.

We did it all for mom's gas bill.

Early Access Review
Rarely in my life have a game ever caused the feeling that the very moment I lay my hands on the controls I am filled with an overwhelming sense that 'this is right'. In this case that the movement, the shooting, the adjustments, the options, everything is just put together with such evident passion for making the game feel nice to play. This is such a game.

Just everything in this game feels like it's laser focused on making sure the player has fun. And it is. It is a ton of fun

Edit: 08.11.23

This might be the best launch an early access game has had in years. If you like shooters you are missing out if you aren't playing this. It is damn near perfect.

Early Access Review
- Baddies shoot sideways
- Baddies have instantaneous reaction times
- Baddies can shoot even though their animation supposes they are stunned
- Baddies will survive multiple high calibre rounds to vital organs and then shoot while ticking all of the above
- Baddies will shoot through walls if they see you clipping through them
- Baddies will, instead of leaning, simply shoot through corners; they can see through corners.

For a game all about the importance of split-second decision making in dangerous situations this game plays like an arcade shooter from the 90s. Even though you are given multiple tools to control the situation they will never be more important than an ability to shoot people in the head from the hip.

No bots in multiplayer means that if you play with less than a group of 5 you are handicapping your team's ability to function. The game has awkward unrealistic map layouts that can only exist in videogames, where every room is designed to have multiple entry points that requires multiple eyes to watch; compounding the quantity of players issue. Playing on high graphics the screen effects makes everything blend together like your characters are all heavily nearsighted without depth perception, enemies can effectively camouflage themselves by standing still in sunny areas, like they're the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Predator.

Also, DLC for an early access game that specifically gives you access to... Early access patches... What?

It might be a great game one day, it is not that game today, or tomorrow, or next week, or next month, or even next year.

No UI scaling, terrible hold-to-confirm menus, no brightness setting means that due to my window not having curtains I can not see anything.

Great presentation though, I really felt like I was in a dystopia.

For being a party game this had very limited player interactivity. Though what killed this for me compared to its predecessor is that it has an astonishingly huge word count. It's great if you want to play by yourself and spend a lot of time reading humorous dialogue, but for the purpose of making jokes land the length was not an asset. And though we played it as a group of 4, our throats were parched narrating before we were halfway through one session.

I took a little time to check and on average MP1's dialogues were slightly less than half the length. Some might say it's an embarrassment of riches, but I'd say it was the whole well when all we wanted was a glass of water. An unusual problem, but a problem regardless.
