to start off i have had this game almost since its steam realease and i think that it is just about the best game i have ever played.
my decription of it goes along the lines of a mind bogglingly gorgeous survival horror game in disguise. (the amount of jumpscares i have had)
at first it was a little dull with a major lack of content and, getting bored with the game i quit for a while. then there were a ton of new updates realeased that made the game so much more fun. like now there is some major story development two+ islands (one just floating on the surface with no support from anything other than giant floaters (pink creatures that store helium in its 'skin') there is a maximum explorable depth of about 1500 meters below the surface and about 15 - 30 biomes realeased and in development according to the concept art. as well as an amasing variety of creatures; most of them hostile.

i am not doing a very good job at telling what the game is like but i will try to explain the point of all the actions you will need to do in order to progress.
the only real thing you have to do = explore. in subnautica you have to explore if you want new gear, more awesome and terrifying expiriences more resources and new tech.
im sorry if this review has turned you away from the game (i did make it sound like another of those cheezy ripoffs of other survival games)
this is a video about subnautica that basically tells you why you should much better than i could https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3K4FqpPyMk

2018 Edit
I wish I could play this game but I have never had the graphics capabilities to run it well and recently as I have noticed a degredation in the preformance of my electronics I have been unable to play it at all which is really disheartening because from what I have seen it is becoming even more of an amazing game

Conclusion: buy every graphics card on the market.
P.S. i really want to experience the cuddlefish (pretty sure they are still called that)
