PixelTail’s Moderation Agenda Trumps Fairness
On February 21st,
I received a permanent ban on chat, voice, condo titles, and text hat - all under the label of Transphobia[i.imgur.com]

In seeking to understand the basis of the permanent mute, PixelTail noted that this mute was based on user reports[i.imgur.com] and informed me that over 35 unique users had reported me since 2019.
The response I received seemed to conclude that action was taken solely due to the volume of reports.

While it’s noted that no evidence confirming the validity of each report has been shared,
If the majority of these reports truly indicate harassment as claimed, it would be reasonable to expect clearer evidence.
PixelTail declined to share the specifics of what led to the permanent mute, and notably refused to provide any evidence[i.imgur.com] - claiming image hosting issues, implying that evidence had been lost.

This is particularly strange given that this is my most recent appeal.

I had requested a general overview of older violations[i.imgur.com] with accompanying evidence, and the reason for my sudden ban appears to involve factors such as language they believe is upsetting transgenders - including instances where I used highly offensive pronouns that resulted in a 2 week ban "KG/LB", associating with transphobic figures, and a report alleging I doxed an individual because of their trans identity.

Issues of Report Volume:
The high volume of reports suggests several possible explanations:
  • Failed Reports:
    Many reports may lack evidence, serving merely as general feedback on a player for PixelTail. These accusations lack the necessary proof to substantiate any claims.
  • Duplicate reports:
    Multiple reports from the same 'incident' may have been logged separately, inflating the total report count without reflecting distinct or repeated violations.
  • Off Platform reports:
    Reports involving incidents outside of the direct moderation scope[i.imgur.com] are being included in a player’s report count.
    Off platform reports are inflating the overall report count, extending moderation beyond appropriate bounds. It is up to PixelTails discretion to decide if the information is factual.

If the emphasis PixelTail has on stating that user reports alone is enough to get permanently banned for, then this raises questions about whether these 35 reports are grounded in substantial rule violations or merely a result of 1 of 3 factors I've outlined above based on my 7-year experience playing the game.
Without a breakdown of these instances which I've been denied, it raises an eyebrow on whether any ban I've received is genuinely justified considering not a single piece of evidence has been supplied.

Lack of Evidence Provided:
PixelTail staff has claimed that evidence for my alleged violations cannot be shared due to “user privacy” concerns and “expired image hosting.”
While I understand the importance of privacy, withholding all evidence entirely removes accountability, leaving only PixelTail’s assertion of wrongdoing. Especially when users' privacy can be redacted, I’m unable to fairly understand what led to these bans, which have been portrayed as severely transphobic.

I don’t know the reason for the mute; they don’t seem to know either, and now they’re attempting to retroactively justify the mute by any means.

Association with Transphobic Public Figures:
PixelTail has declared that expressing agreement with a public figure the moderation team considers transphobic is against their rules.
It is implied that due to my personal preference for certain individuals, then this has been cited as a rule violation for “association” in my appeal. Being reported under this attempt of control has only increased the volume of reports against me.

Due to the questionable nature this rule, the moderation team cannot provide concrete evidence when asked, as enforcing such a rule where you can be banned for liking a political figure would likely face backlash if players understood the true reasons behind their bans when PixelTail fails to give a clear answer, so they opt to dodge the appeal entirely.

But I have an idea what led to the ban.

Why I was permanently muted:
On February 19th, I replied to a thread on PixelTail's official forums about my safety in Tower Unite. I shared that I felt unwelcome and faced harassment[i.imgur.com] because of my religious beliefs.
February 21st, two days later, I was permanently muted and was told, "you have broken the rules and made others feel disrespected and unwelcome."[i.imgur.com]

At the time, my forum profile picture featured Jordan Peterson, a well-known author that explores psychology, mythology, and RELIGION.
Was the ban due to my association with a profile picture of a 'transphobic public figure', was it due to my views on religion, or was it an accumulation of reports with unverified evidence?

If a profile picture or canvas featuring public figures is deemed transphobic based solely on the moderation team's perception, then a permanent ban could be imposed simply for that association.

It seems questionable that just two days after I spoke out about experiencing religious discrimination in Tower Unite, I was permanently muted for transphobic discrimination because some players, "are figuring themselves out or sharing their identity with others and have been made to feel unsafe."

Concerns About Fairness:
We now see the clear bias on what views PixelTail sees as acceptable, and views that are not acceptable - religion, certain public figures, and in turn, players through association.
However, when public figures are associated with the opposite political spectrum, they appear to receive a free pass. This creates an environment where any viewpoint that doesn’t align with their stance is presumed transphobic, especially given that "players sharing their identity" represents the majority opinion.

PixelTail’s moderation targets those who hold different religion or political beliefs, assuming non-participation, or lack of strong opinions equates to transphobia.

PixelTail also states that persistent issues should be reported with accompanying evidence[i.imgur.com].
Despite this, my reports - backed by recorded videos and voice recordings have been ignored.
While I can't definitively say this relates to the LGBT status of the person involved,
the dismissal of reports[i.imgur.com], despite clear evidence, suggests PixelTail isn’t taking reports seriously and is unwilling to properly address issues when they arise, instead focussing on quantity of user reports that lead to permanent bans.

Personal Political Bias:
This situation is troubling considering a developer's admission that
personal political biases could influence moderation[i.imgur.com] when political topics are involved.

Edit: I’ve now been permanently condo banned[i.imgur.com] from hosting my own personal condo for "transphobia".
While unsurprising, the developers have failed to provide any context or explanation for this latest ban, leaving the moderator notes blank and forcing me to guess the reasoning.
I can only speculate that the Trump 2024 poster may have been a factor.

Edit: I've now been permanently banned from uploading screenshots, artwork, videos, guides, workshop, future condos and updating past condos.

The complete lack of transparency only deepens the suspicion that PixelTail isn't about rules, but pushing a particular agenda by removing players.

tldr;
This game strongly suggests that you should kill;
a Worm in a specific order,
with a specific weapon,
on the other side of the map,
then precede back to my spawn point,
evading all the potential Worms you could be killing in one shot,
then kill that Worm with a different weapon,
due to the subgoals.

The Campaign was fun, but it got to the point I had to ♥♥♥♥♥♥' give up on the game.
I couldn't force myself to progress past a Campaign with unrealistic subgoals.

I can avoid all subgoals and just enjoy the game. but I can't.
It's leaving a mission unfinished, and looking at all future missions' subgoals they've all got the same stupid goals, and because of this I'm dropping this ♥♥♥♥ game.

Worms Armageddon was the best experience I've had with a Worms game when I was younger,
And the second game to top that would be the Nintendo DS game Worms Open Warfare 2.

One example of a Subgoal

What really pises me off is the fact you haven't fully completed a Campaign unless you complete subgoals that are ridiculous and distract you from playing the game how you'd want to.

The first subgoal is to kill 3 Worms with Gas Canisters.
There is 3 Canisters on the map, if one of them detonates and does not kill the Worm, you have to restart the match.
Oops. The Enemy worm mistakenly shot the Canister but did not die. Restart.

The second subgoal is to drown an enemy worm,
Oops. The dumb NPC commited suicide, not enough worms to complete subgoal.

The last subgoal is killing the final Worm with a helicopter.
Oops it blew up.

No matter how many times you redo the Mission for subgoals, something will always go wrong.
You try to do the goals in a different order, so mistakes don't happen.
But they do. They always do.

I'm repeating missions every 20 minutes due to focussing on subgoals that aren't going as I plan, and I'm not the sort of person to "move on" to the next Campaign and disregard this.

Not worth buying the DLC seperately if you don't already have it.

You get;
3 Ability Points who cares, not going to make a difference in your gameplay, you can acquire them yourself.

1 cosmetic Mount & 1 cosmetic Outfit,
There's 30+ Mounts & 29 outfits already in the game,
so unless this specific appearance is something you'd pay 1/4th of the Assassins Creed Origins basegame for, then go ahead.

Two weapons you won't use, after playing for 20minutes you'll find better gear to surpass it.

One Shield. same as above

and a Ambush at Sea Mission that takes 10minutes,
But who cares about that for now, there's 150 side missions already in game for you to complete.

Assassin's Creed Origins is a huge and highly enjoyable game.
It's very different to the other AC titles, you're more turned towards engaging in hand to hand combat more than Assassinating targets.
Which fits well because they're not Assassin's yet.

I'm currently 60 hours in and I've explored 1/3rd of the map and completed every side mission and collectable on the way. The map is very large.

100 hours in, and ALL side quests, and ALL collectables are complete.
All that's left are the x2 DLCs.

133 hours, dlcs complete, and everything they both have to offer.
The Curse of the Pharaohs surpasses the main story. It's bloody great.

----
A few minor issues I didn't enjoy is not knowing who is hostile and what places are hostile.
I've walked into areas and been attacked on sight without knowing if the area is friendly or not.
Yes there is a warning, but it's as you enter the red zone. If there's a guard nearby you've already been spotted.

-----------------------------------------------------------
Below I'm keeping a record of the settings used with my current system for myself and anybody that's in need of tweaking.
I recommend two setting presets, your main high detailed and a low detailed for the fps coma inducing Alexandria.

Clutter, Shadows & Anti-aliasing are the most demanding settings.
- Turn Clutter to Very Low in Forest areas if experiencing fps drops.
- Turn Clutter, Shadows, Tesellation, Ambient Occlusion lowest in Alexandria if experiencing fps drops.

1)
Optimal as per Geforce Experience
Good for Alexandria only maybe

Ambient Occlusion | High
Anti-aliasing | Medium

Rise of the Tomb Raider is just as fun as the first game.
I really enjoy using the four Huntsmans and their upgraded features, I found myself swapping to and from the Compound Bow when I wanted more power over speed.

I recommend buying Baba Yaga DLC over the 20th Anniversary DLC,
It was highly worth it for $3

tldr; Don't waste your time getting the collectables, it will add 15 hours to your playtime, it wasn't enjoyable, it was stressful but I never gave up.

If you do decide to go for the collectables after completing the story, focus on getting ALL Monoliths, Archivist Maps and Satchels in that area, before ANYTHING else.
This will greatly lower your backtracking.

- - - - - - - - -

Collectable Hunting info
I had completed the original 2013 Tomb Raider story, collected all collectables, completed all challenges, tombs etc, in 2 days,

and I can only recommend collectable hunting in the first game, and only finding those Tombs you missed on your second rerun, completing the side missions, while ignoring the rest of the collectables that are out of your way.

Rise of the Tomb Raider collectable hunting took me an entire full day including backtracking after completing the story -compared to the hour or two in the 2013 Tomb Raider.

I found in Rise of the Tomb Raider, it's much more stressful, not every collectable will be listed on your map - due to finding the primary collectables first ; Monoliths, Archivist maps, and Satchels to visibly unlock other collectables on the map.

After finding the main collectables, (Monoliths, Maps, Satchels), you'll then need the required language to understand them, whether it being Greek, Mongolian or Russian, with the required language level.
To level up your language, you need to find other collectables in that language.

The Monolights, Maps and Satchels won't be visible on your map until you come in contact with them. Some are very hidden.
You'll need to compare maps with an online guide to find out where they are hidden.
https://riseofthetombraidermap.de/

Items stacked close to each other won't all appear on the map link above, so that was another aspect that was wasting my time from having to compare with other guides what collectables I was missing.

After 3 years on positive, I've decided to flip this to negative

TLDR: SPOILER FREE:
You have access to Guns, but I never fired a single bullet in my entire playthrough.
Was it a choice? No. I'm one to follow the storyline and play my part.
You play as the good guy, you encounter misunderstood factions, but they're not necessarily bad. There was NO NEED to kill anybody.

I wanted to, but it just wasn't part of the story, unless you say ♥♥♥♥ it and ignore the entire plot and shoot every ♥♥♥♥ but end up ruining the game in the end but not even understanding the plotline.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

I went from an extremely Negative review, to a Positive review.

It took me 5 hours to fix all the glitches, crashes and bad optimization, I haven't had any problems after that 5 hour mark to a complete run through including Side missions of 32 hours, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is running smooth as butter on the highest settings at 60fps using a gtx 1060 3gb with some 45fps drops in large outside areas, on a 1080p monitor.

I have fixed most of my crashes by;
* Defragging my C:drive,
* Checked C:drive disk,
* Reinstalled GeForce Experience,
* CLEAN install of the graphics driver,
* Disabled Hard Shadows in-game (apparantly causes most crashes)

I was only getting 40fps and 70% gpu usage, took me a while to figure out the Adaptive setting in Nvidia program specific settings was restricting it, I turned that off and set Triple Buffering in-game. Now I'm at 60fps/99%- usage.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

I believe Deus would be more enjoyable with running through the game twice,
The first run by playing legit and stealthy, because you're the good guy;

Somewhat gameplay spoiler
So far, I've not found a need to use any guns, because there's no bad guys yet, just misunderstood factions. It's kinda boring, I've got all these weapons and ammo yet I've not even fired a single bullet.
I'm the Interpol Officer following orders not shooting fellow good cops as it's meant to be played.

I feel the game will be more enjoyable on the 2nd run when you pass the story and you can be that guy ACTUALLY using guns, and ruining the plotline due to it not being part of the story where you go guns blazing and ♥♥♥♥ up the side missions.
Because that's not ever an option.
