I dislike using the word “experience” instead of “game”, which is so popular nowadays.

But here, in This War of Mine, it’s completely justified. Experiences change people, their thoughts and perspectives. This War of Mine does just that.

You’ve probably played countless war games, be it shooters, RTSes or some other kind. Universally almost, there were two sides: Us and Them. And yet, there is always a third side, the one stuck in between, the one suffering the most – the civilians. And now you get to play as them. There are no heroes here, just survival. No orders or objectives, only your moral compass.

This game is only as good as your immersion into it. Sure, you can bludgeon everyone to death with a crowbar and loot whatever is left. You could steal from an elderly couple and let them starve to death.

But would you do that in real life, real situation? And even if, would you still be the same person after?
