Deserves a game of the year award.
If you like Pokemon or JRPG games you will probably like this game as well.
Also, if you have played Octopath Traveler 1 and you are on the fence of buying this one, I would strongly recommend it. Octopath Traveler 2 is way better than the first in terms of mechanics and over-all playability.

I was honestly skeptical to the game after watching the screenshots and trailer. The game looked to have the graphics of a slightly enhanced FFXIII(?) or what think Dark Souls 2 looks like if I haven't played it for a long time. And it looks like that which is somewhat disappointing since the game released in 2022. However it still has the extremely well made Final Fantasy cinematic cut scenes that will forever look fantastic. The other normal in-game cut scenes are in-game rendered.
The lipsyncing is also really bad, almost TES Oblivion level bad at least in English. I don't care too much for that so to me it doesn't matter.

Anyways the game is way better than I expected, I bought it mainly just to try it out and refund it just to see if it was as bad as I thought, but it wasn't. To me this game feels and plays like a combination of Dark Souls and Final Fantasy 15/7 remake. It is somewhat difficult so you might die a few times, you have these "cubes" which are basically identical in function to the bonfires/graces in the Souls games. There are a lot of classes to the game (which is mainly depending on which type of weapon you choose) where your main character can have 2 different ones at the same time (you can switch back and fourth freely even in combat). The whole camera movement and position feels like a souls-game. Still it is a somewhat "normal" Final Fantasy game.

What is different from the other Final Fantasy games I've played (FF 1-7 & FF15) is that there is no "hub" or safezone area like a town or city (at least through 2 hours of gameplay) which was a bit disappointing. The world map seems to be like the classic FF games, however you just pick a mission, start it and you get teleported to the area. So no walking around the world to get to the mission, which also was disappointing.

Taking this into regard, I still really like the game. What I mentioned as negatives are not something I think takes that much away from the game, it just doesn't necessarily add to it. The bosses are well made in my opinion and the combat is cool and somewhat over the top for a Final Fantasy game, in terms of finishes, but I really like it. The diversity of classes and item sets are interesting which promotes the idea of testing different combos and experimenting that way.
However I have not tried the multiplayer co-op so I can't give an opinion on that. It seems like you can host a "room" and have a friend join you for that mission, but again, I have not tried it so I can't say if it is bad or not.

I might update my review as I get further into the game, but these are my thoughts and opinion on it so far.

Big fan of the franchise and this game is probably good, I just really do not like the "real-time turnbased" or ABS combat. I probalby didn't play enough to get into it, but I could not stand it.

Edit: I bought the game again and getting over ABS, its actually good.

I honestly was a bit skeptical as I had been away from the series for around somewhere between 5-10 years, but Rift Apart did not disappoint at all. I am only playing the game on controller as that is how I first experienced the series. I am also playing the game on an ultra wide monitor (3440x1440) which I am surprised that the game does support.

The last Ratchet & Clank game I played has to be either Tools of Destruction or Up Your Arsenal. I've been away from the series for a long time since I started playing on PC instead of console. This is probably also the one game series I have actually 100% completed as I find it more fun or maybe entertaining to complete than most other games I've played.
As mentioned, Rift Apart did not disappoint and was about exactly what I hoped I would get. A classic Ratchet & Clank game with way better graphics than the ones I played for PS2 & 3. It still feels like I am playing the same game and I still have some muscle memory from back then which surprised me.
Rift Apart has got all the elements I enjoyed from the series in terms of movement, weapons, skills and upgrades and so on. I do not remember much of the stories from the games I played before, nor do I really care that much for the story in this one, but so far I do enjoy the game.
There are some performance issues where if you level your main blaster to lvl 5, it shoots a lot of bullets which makes the game lag on my end whenever I hit an enemy. Shotgun on a lot of enemies close range also makes the game lag. I am not too worried about this as the game just released for PC, will probably be a patch soon.

Although my review was a bit scattered I'd summarize it by saying I really enjoy this game. Takes me back to when I was a kid playing the other games in the series and I still feel the same joy doing so. Solid game, looks great, feels good in terms of controls, music is also very well written. Though it has some performance issues at day one.

Average 90fps on High preset (didn't really change my fps that much by lowering it, disabling dynamic resolution scaling helped by 20fps)
Specs: RTX 3070 - i5 12600 KF - m.2 SSD - 3440x1440 (Ultrawide)

Genuinely one of the best games I’ve played, but only with the gunslinger mod tbh. Using gunslinger the game gets a well deserved visual upgrade and so does combat.
Anyways, I am a huge fan of post apocalyptic games and the stalker franchise as whole does this really well. As it’s set in Pripyat and surrounding areas of Chernobyl, I really like the authentic feel the voice acting has. There’s a thick presence of Eastern European English which only adds to the immersion in my opinion.
If you liked the metro series and want something a bit more “open world” and free, this is a great game. Getting the whole franchise on sale is also such a great deal and really worth it.

I’m really hyped for stalker 2, however the decision the devs made on multiplayer annoys me.

The game is good, wouldn't say its the best game I've ever played, but its enjoyable. Can't really complain as I got it for free from nvidia.
Some players however, really didn't pay any attention in the training and never use abilities.

All negative reviews seems to be because some people experience frequent crashes.

Personally I haven't experienced any game breaking issues or crashes. I have encountered some crashes but none that were seriously annoying.

The story is ok. nothing really impressive, but not bad either.
Graphics look really good and seems quite well optimized.
Gunplay is very good. Every gun feels like it actually does damage. (however some snipers/dmrs feel off.)
MP is fun, usual cod game with campers, kids on their new pc/console, racist white kids.
Menu is ok, somewhat confusing at times.
