I pre-ordered a day before release just to get the bonus gourd, which really didn't give any unfair advantage. I also intended on buying it just to try the game and maybe refund it later. However, I'm really glad I didn't and I've been enjoying the game a lot.

Black Myth: Wukong is such a great game. The combat flows nicely and perfect dodges are really satisfying. A lot of people thought this would be a Souls-like, however I would rather compare it to the Nioh games as I feel it's more accurate. Enemies respawn whenever you rest at a shrine, you have stances. However in Wukong there's not really any punishment for dying which is a great change of pace, and especially as the game is a boss rush.
The voice acting is also really good (I've only played it with Chinese VA and English subtitles), which really helps the setting.
I only wish I had read Journey to the West beforehand to get a better grasp of the original story as it doesn't always explain itself.

This DLC is absolutely stunning both in terms of visuals and gameplay. However it is important to note that this DLC is (at least to me) A LOT harder than the base game, and somewhat similar to the Dark Souls series in terms of difficulty and enemy placement (which is predictable if you've played the others). They definitely cranked it up for this one, which I am all for as Elden Ring gets a bit too easy towards the end of the game. However I know to a lot of people Elden Ring is their first Souls-like game so not everyone knows about FromSoftware's difficulty just yet.
To me the difficulty was really great in a "i will definitely get my money's worth with this dlc" way as I just completed all the bosses after about 32-35 hours and I have most of the quests to go and a lot of items to find.

I really enjoy the different areas and them being somewhat unique from each other. I really think other developers should use this DLC as a benchmark in terms of content. There's a lot of new weapons, spells, armor sets, talismans and so on which encourages a new build or changes to the one you already have (which I feel a lot of people didn't consider based on the reviews).

Just for some added context to my take, I knew the DLC had a recommended level of 150+, so I went started it at lvl 187, and I am now lvl 198 as I decided to not level up at all unless I actually had issues with a boss. (and to get my equip load up cause solitude armor and great katana). Also, play the DLC as you want to yourself if it is higher than "recommended" or not. This is YOUR playthrough, not someone else's. ALSO UPGRADE THE WEAPONS AND SUMMONS YOU GET. THERE'S A REASON WHY YOU GET BOMBARDED WITH UPGRADE ITEMS.

On to what I've seen people complain about...
Yes the bosses spam attacks which seem hard(and are hard) to get through, but this is why it's important to use summons where you can as the DLC relies heavily on them. You get so many upgrades for summons that not using them and then complaining that the DLC is hard is just dumb. I get wanting to do it alone is rewarding, but shaming others or feeling shame yourself for using the tools they quite clearly recommend you use isn't good. I've also seen people say that "fromsoft is just appealing to the masochist fanbase with this dlc waawaawaa" which I find genuinely strange as everything FromSoftware makes does so.

I can only complain about the feeling of non-linearity as I defeated an important "story boss" before I should have which ended most questlines in the DLC, and it's somewhat annoying to play through most of the base game just to access the DLC again in NG+. Also performance issues, however changing my settings from max to medium WITHOUT RAYTRACING pretty much fixed it for me (AS AN UPDATE TO THIS: I got random stutters during the last boss fight which got a bit annoying, but restarting the game fixed it. And one attack really made me lag). If there is one thing I wish they changed though, it would be having more bosses to progress the story. I got a bit disappointed knowing I got to the very last one after a few hours when I knew there are more remembrance bosses out there.

I would also like to add that I did get the premium version in hopes that this DLC would be what I wanted, and it pretty much is.

I was originally going to buy it just to try and then refund, but I genuinely enjoy the game.
It's kind of similar to stardew valley, but in a pirate setting.
The only negative with this game is that some parts are unexplained so you have to figure stuff out yourself.

I enjoyed the gameplay, however I am a bit torn as to what I think of the whole game knowing at least one part uses AI. The voice at the very start is clearly AI, which makes me wonder what else could be AI...

I'll leave a positive review, as it is "playable". This is basically STALKER Anomaly, which I love, so this game can really hit the spot when it nears completion. There is content that can keep you in the game for a few hours, if you look away from the downsides.
Personally audio is a huge factor for enjoyment in games and here it doesn't do it for me. There's also floating grass, when you die it looks like you spawn under the map, instead of "dynamic ambience/music" I felt the "music" controlled the weather. By this I mean whenever you would hear a change in music, the weather would also change. It's not a smooth transition, but I assume this will be fixed later on.
The gun play feels nice, however I only had the starting pistol as a revolver I picked up got jammed. NPCs kind of spam voicelines whenever they engage in combat, I encountered a few zombies and one guy kept shouting the same voiceline over and over which was something...
All in all, there's definitely work to be done and the title is in early access so that's fine. Don't expect too much and you'll be fine. It won't replace STALKER Anomaly yet...

Yes, the performance is bad. However this has been known for a long time, and was listed in the specs on the store page.
Yes the game has "microtransactions", but there is absolutely no need for you to buy them, the average player wont need them at all. It's just if you really need it.
The game runs on about 30-40 fps in a city, but in the world I get about 60-70fps.
I have RTX3070, i5-12600, 32gb ram, 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor. And I play on high settings.
Genuinely don't get why people are so mad about the performance or how their setup performs worse. You don't need 200fps to buy wares or unlock a skill.
So far I've only experienced one crash and on relaunch I was at the excact same spot.

Really cool and great looking game. I haven't tried any other Granblue Fantasy games before but getting into this one was super easy.
I keep wanting to continue playing which I struggle with when it comes to a lot of games nowadays.
Currently I only see one downside, being how short the game's main story is.
For ~65-70€ the game having a supposed 20h completionist length is absolutely insane. I am 4 hours in and I'm through half of the game's chapters.
If it was half the price this could easily be my favorite new JRPG game.
Also most of the combat is button mashing, but I don't have a problem with that.
