Game seems interesting at first. Ultimately, however, all activities boil down to pressing some F1-F6 keys and then going AFK.

The best fantasy multiplayer combat game with a great singleplayer campaign. Rest in peace, Dark Messiah.

Early Access Review
This game used to be good. Updates have completely ruined it.

Instead of choosing Battlerites mid-game, you now pick a loadout beforehand. Instead of gaining Battlerites throughout the maximum of five rounds, you now get all of them at the start, which nullifies what used to be an important strategical aspect: do I pick a strong rite now, or do I pick a synergizing one in case the match drags on?

The new UI is terrible. Obviously inspired by new-age garbage such as Overwatch and whatever flavor of the month EA shooter is hip nowadays, it completely ditches the cool tribal theme the game had going for it in favor of being "sleek" and "modern"; only to end up being a far less usable version of what we had before.

Streamlined for consoles, I guess, but what does that make us PC gamers? Beta testers? Well, if they want the casual console crowd, they can have it. But in turn, they will undoubtebly lose the small amount of players they retain on PC. The people that still remember Bloodline: Champions are being tossed under the bus in favor of a new crowd.

Thumbs down. Uninstalled. Stop trying to be Overwatch.

Unless you have four friends to play this with, don't bother. The random people you meet are all horrible human beings determined to make your games the absolute worst they can possibly be. Due to the way the game is made, just one person being a detriment can cost you the game, which happens far more often than you think.

Playing the game for fun, even without winning, used to be an option. 6.83c DotA was an incredible game. Over the course of every single patch since, Valve has managed to casualize the game further and further, which has pushed more and more original, pre-beta, DotA 1 players away. Currently, to me, the game is in such a poor state that even when winning, little to no joy can be derived from it.

Update: 16/07/2020
I tried to play DotA again for the first time in months, just to check out the crummy new game type. Two hours of frustration and "GAME CLIENT OUT OF DATE" and "GAME COORDINATOR DOWN" later, I uninstalled again. If you earn hundreds of millions of dollars per year, and you can't even be bothered to make a stable server architecture, then you don't deserve one more minute of my time. For shame.

This game went from being a pretty decent successor to Men of War, to a complete and utter piece of trash. In very early access (before heavy vehicles were even a thing), there were signs of greatness to be found. Then, they added first person direct controls, a terrible idea which destroys the balance and the Men of War feel.

Then, they made the game free to play, and added a cash store; both driving away the original fans of the game (who paid to play it), and at the same time flooding it with clueless rookies. The attempts at nickel-and-diming are absolutely disgusting, if you ask me. They further tried to pinch every penny from their fanbase, by locking content behind the "ultimate edition".

All of this happened without adding the one thing players have been asking for the most: proper vehicle combat, instead of the hitpoint-based rubbish that is currently implemented. No, instead of doing anything useful, they'd rather turn the game into a terrible mixture of a first person shooter and a realtime strategy game, thus breaking both of these aspects. Well, they can have their buggy, broken mess of a dead game for all I care. I am done supporting this greedy company, whose games I have been playing since the original Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2.
