Played and enjoyed a lot. Then took a bit of a hiatus. Came back to find a terrible new map added, called "Crossroads". In a game focused around melee combat, you really shouldn't add maps centered around cavalry and archers. That just breaks the entire flow of the game, and it turns my otherwise strict recommendation, into a definite no. When this map is removed or reworked to be less absolutely terrible, this review might change.

Negative reviews are probably from people who haven't installed the uncensor patch. Thank you Steam, for allowing games like this. Thank you, Enokippu, for making it.

Singleplayer AI is broken in many ways. Campaigns are more tedious than they are enjoyable. Multiplayer is a rock-paper-scissors gamble, and the single, forced game mode is horrendous. Right now, multiplayer is more about holding random points in space than it is about space ships blowing eachother up. Ship customization was stripped, and the new fleet customization doesn't hold a candle to it in the slightest. Rest in peace, Battlefleet Gothic. At least the first game was good.

A fun game, with some interesting mechanics to distinguish it from other turn based strategy games. My only gripe is that it was way too easy. I killed the final boss in two turns, taking eight damage total. A difficulty setting would have been nice to have. Or perhaps a new game+, which cranks up the challenge.

The best World War 2 realtime strategy game, with the worst community. Almost every online lobby (of which there are few) is hosted by a group of friends who tilt the odds in their favor, to make sure they can not possibly lose. They'll pick an unfair map, they'll screw with the game settings, heck some will even kick one or two of your teammembers once the game starts to ensure that they have a tactical edge on you. Basically, this results in four fifths of all games being pubstomps. I suppose their simple minds find "fun" in this. A pity.

Hosting your own game is a solution, but you'll be stuck waiting for players more than you will actually play. Why? Because everyone's in the previously mentioned pubstomp lobbies, because most don't know any better. The few games that aren't totally teamstacked, are reasonably enjoyable. But why should a game only be fun a quarter of the time, instead of always?

While the base game runs fine, due to the 32 bit nature of the ancient engine, the popular mod RobZ (which adds a lot of units, and makes the game feel more realistic) has a tendency to crash. When it doesn't, it makes for a thrilling experience. Alas, between the crashes and the stacked teams, not enough of a redeeming factor to rejuvinate MOWAS 2 in 2018. Furthermore, it splits the community in half, meaning you get even less choice of who you want to play with. A shame, this would be one of my favorite games, if it had a more active, and less petty playerbase.

Almost every action in this game is fueled by people grinding materials by holding their left mouse button for a few hours straight. If the lowest tier of the ingame economy was automated or able to be automated, it would improve tenfold. As it is right now, I can not justify having okayish amounts of fun at the expense of some poor soul farming metal in the middle of nowhere, nor do I want to be said poor soul myself.

The Blitzkrieg squad feels like a Mike Pence simulator. Zap the Vek away, at least ten a day.
