Pros:
  • Great co-op platformer!
  • Beefy amount of content: I'm used to indie platformers just lasting some hours in total, but this one took around 14 hours to beat, and that's with almost all secret levels untouched.
  • Cool pixel art graphics with some very nice subtle touches with lighting and special effects
  • Music is superb and well-implemented. No awkward restarting of music when you die, for instance, which some games do.
  • Fun puzzles, though I wouldn't have minded if they were much harder. It's rather light from a puzzle standpoint...

Cons:
  • ... as most of the difficulty comes from platforming. Some of the jumps borderline on requiring pixel-perfect timing and that's something I found frustrating at times as super-hard platforming was never my cup of tea.
  • The robot is a bit more fun to play as he gets different abilities throughout the game while the human character stays the same. There are also some levels where it feels like the human character doesn't really do much.
  • Not really a con since it's advertised as a co-op game, but there's no proper singleplayer mode. You can play a mode where you control both characters using one controller, but that mode is honestly for crazy people.

"We've got 5090 at home" but unironically and it's 285 times cheaper.

Pros:
  • Extremely challenging but in a fair way. You'll eventually learn how to fight each enemy type effectively.
  • Everything is a one-hit kill, even the bosses! Which is very refreshing after playing countless games with very bulletspongy bosses.
  • Though the game is technically short, it'll likely take many hours to master, and the game is very cheap!
  • Good enemy variety, effective artstyle, and good music though I wish there were more of it.

Cons:
  • I'd like a sequel, plz.

Pros:
  • Cute artstyle.
  • Good premise for a puzzle game, though it's not that puzzley.

Cons:
  • The game is very short and the puzzles never become even remotely challenging. There is a story focus, but I didn't find that very engaging.

Pros:
  • Cool action game that feels like Contra and Castlevania had a baby. Contravania? Castlontra?
  • Really, really, REALLY good music.
  • Not the best story in a video game, but it's serviceable. The voice acting quality varies quite a bit, but the actress for main character does a really good job.
  • Game has a punishing difficulty, but I felt it was well-tuned on Normal difficulty. If you enjoy a challenge that feels very possible to overcome, you'll enjoy this, but you might be scared away by having to re-do levels from scratch when you die too much.

Cons:
  • The controls have some big problems. You can only shoot arrows at a fast pace if you tap at an extremely specific rhythm, otherwise it feels like the game ignores your input when you try to shoot quickly. The game handles "down" inputs in an annoying way: If you're running, you can't press down to crouch, and if you're crouching, you can't press a downwards diagonal to start moving. If you shoot while standing still, the character can't move for a brief period of time, but there's no such move delay if you shoot while moving. With it being so heavily inspired by Contra, I wish the controls were as well-implemented as that game.
  • No support for exclusive fullscreen. I couldn't get g-sync working so I ended up getting some ugly judder when playing.

Pros:
  • Creative puzzle platformer with Adobe Premier-style gameplay!
  • Funny cutscenes.
  • Cute art style.
  • There are secrets!

Cons:
  • Some of the puzzles feel like you're meant to brute force part of the solution, but at least you can always use hints to make the process easier. I brought eternal shame upon my family by using a total of 3-4 hints during my playthrough.

  • Charming and cute graphics.
  • Chill music.

Cons:
  • Rather short but you can't really complain when the price is super low.

Early Access Review
Pros:
  • Neat Stronghold-esque RTS game.
  • Some very nice quality-of-life improvements compared to Stronghold, like good summaries of food consumption and production.
  • Unlike Stronghold, buildings and walls aren't created instantly, which makes sense and also helps with the gameplay.
  • A nice selection of modes.

Cons:
  • Music could be better, and the main menu theme is oddly loud.
  • I wish the game showed ruins when buildings were murdered so I knew what used to be there.
  • No multiplayer.

Pros:
  • As with the first game, it has a great art style with a lot of personality.

Cons:
  • Gameplay is similar to the original (which honestly wasn't super great), but they made it drastically harder, and very obtuse when it comes to actually getting to the game ending.
