The game runs like garbage. Stutters every 2 feet so I can't actually do anything.

Battle pass is for you to complete at any time! No rush or FOMO (only FOMO is missing glorious battles)
The premium currency is easy to collect and find in the world and you can earn everything for free by just playing the game.

It's kinda hard to remember this game is supposed to be a "tactical, slow-paced SWAT simulator" when every suspect wants to go down in a gunfight like it's some kind of Hollywood action movie. Are we being the police here or are we just playing a game where we walk into building and shoot anything that moves? Because you can still pass missions doing that, by the way. No penalty for killing every single suspect, even the ones you're "supposed" to arrest.

The game is poorly optimized and you need a supercomputer to run it effectively, and it's riddled with bugs that have been in the game since the early access years ago. Not to mention that VOID outsourced their own development, so parts of this game aren't even theirs. They also used AI art for some of the mission briefings, which isn't allowed on Steam.

TL;DR: Lazy and incompetent devs, game is more like a shoot-'em-up than a SWAT game. Save yourself the $50 and go buy SWAT 4 on GOG instead. You'll have a much better time, especially considering half of the things in this game are directly based on stuff that was in SWAT 4 (besides the parts that actually mattered).

You really gotta know what you're doing and the learning curve in this game is more like the vertical profile of the Grand Canyon. That being said, it is hands down the best tool for modern wargaming

The game is certainly solid for a few hundred hours but without DLC it's a completely different game. Just be aware of that if you plan on buying it.

There are so many things to talk about but I'm not one for writing or reading long reviews so I'm just gonna tell you to buy it. If there was an anti-sale where it was priced at 25 or even 30 dollars I would still tell you to buy it. It's that good.

Monster Hunter Rise is a welcome addition to the family of Monster Hunter games, and it introduces a whole host of new features and mechanics that makes combat very satisfying overall. Having played through both the main game and the Sunbreak DLC, I can affirm that the whole game is well worth its value. If you haven't played Monster Hunter before, Rise is a great place to start! There's 14 different weapon types that each have their own unique gameplay styles, and all of them are completely viable -- there's not a real, definitive, "best weapon," but you may find some weapons easier to use than others. Of course, this all varies from person to person, but there's joy to be found that you can play the game however you like because of the variety of ways you can effectively hunt monsters. While this game is a graphical downgrade from World and is missing some of that extra sauce in the details, it's still a very solid experience (especially if your computer can't handle World's graphical requirements!). There's some new quality of life changes from World that always makes me go "Why wasn't that in World in the first place?" while being juxtaposed by lacking a few features that made me go "Why wasn't that brought over from World?" It's hard for me to pick which game is better, so I'll just say that both of them are worth the value, and ultimately, it's up to you to decide which experience you want.

Wow. Absolutely, 100%, get this game! If you are a cat owner or you're just a soft-hearted person, you're going to want tissues.
I just finished it and I am nearly in tears because gosh darnit I didn't want to get too attached to any of these characters but the game makes me love them and then it goes and breaks my heart repeatedly
Please don't watch any spoilers or anything of this game and just play it blind, but take my recommendation it is worth full price as it is a short play and yet has such a charm to it that many AAA games fail to achieve for a full 60$ price tag. There's no voice actors (besides the titular main character, the cat) and yet I fell more in love with these robots than most other characters I've interacted with before. The music has a unique vibe to it that is inquisitive and somber. I have to again address that I wasn't expecting anything heavily emotional so when the game started throwing the punches my name was changed to Punchin G. Bag
