EDIT: Below this text is my original review, which has now been resolved. If you have any issues with the game feel free to contact the online helpdesk. They were very persistent with fixing my problems and they deserve full credit.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. But when you have to spend 3x the gametime downloading ♥♥♥♥ through the god-awful launcher, I can't really recommend it to other people. I have had to modify several things on my computer/network to even get the download to attempt making progress, and yet it's a completely Sisyphean task, never finishing and looping back to 0. I don't know what the hell Microsoft was thinking when they gave this the OK, nor do I know why they would let this happen, they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Microsoft. The only real way I could forsee fixing this issue is to just get rid of the damn launcher entirely and simply have steam directly install the files.
Any additional time to this review is me continuing to attempt to install the game, I have not played it for a minute.

This is a great tactical, slow-paced breach-and-clear type game, but I can't recommend it unless you have friends to play with. The UI is not easy to navigate and load times can be long, even on good computers. The gun handling is very good and the enemies are smart, moving from room to room and investigating your known positions. There is a PvP mode for this game, but I never touch as it's not the focus of the game.

This game isn't for everyone. If you don't enjoy atmospheric and long-haul journeys, I don't think you'd enjoy Death Stranding. This game isn't focused on combat either, instead there's more emphasis on avoiding it altogether, though the combat mechanics can be mastered quickly. The main draw of the game is the experience of walking across beautiful and stunning landscapes to deliver packages to people far and wide, constantly being encouraged by messages/structures left to help you from other players around the world. In a singleplayer game, there's a large sense of community in everything you do.

If you're reading this you've probably never played Mount & Blade before. Get Bannerlord. You will have fun, I'm not kidding

My friends had to tell me to stop playing after 11 hours. I did not listen to them.

Elite Dangerous is not a perfect game.
There is no set objective for you.
The gameplay can be shallow and repetitive.
The grind will take you a long time to finish.
The learning curve is steep and not completely intuitive.
There is toxicity in the community.
There are bugs and glitches.
I love Elite Dangerous.
Because every time I explore and find a new nebula, I am able to find the beauty in the small things.
There's a basic story for the game, but the rest of the book is empty. It's up to you to finish it.
(also buy it on sale, it's on sale pretty often)

worth the pain

Wait for a sale TBH, the game was severely lackluster at launch and it's decent now.

Holy hell.
I wasn't expecting this game to be this incredible. I just bought it on a whim, cause why not? Seems like fun, cyberpunk anime-style pixel jam. But the actual gameplay experience itself was mind-blowingly fun, yet also muted. It made me feel maximum comf levels, and I had already burned through 2 hours without even realizing it. If you're browsing and you're not sure about this game, give it a go and experience it.
