Don't bother until a price cut and inevitable DLC.

Poor job Stardock. Very poor job. I'm enjoying it because I love Galactic Civilization 2. I'm winning on my first game because I know how to play Galactic Civilization 2.. It's the same freaking game just with a 3 on the end.

Why is there no innovation? Why am I paying $50 for a game that has no significant improvements from Galciv 2? Why are things that were IN galciv 2 missing if it was supposed to be a faithful sequel?

You had ten years and you rehashed the last game pretty faithfully. Well rehash isn't the right word. You released the same game with glaring holes for dlc to fit in. Where's the experience system for ships or espionage? Less races to pick from. Half the things like ship designer are mostly cut and paste from galciv 2. Why can't I set taxes?

They missed so many opportunities and offered in most ways an identical game with some parts cut out.

I haven't been big on platforming games since I was a kid but on recommendation I bought this and it reminded me how fun they can be. The mechanics and gameplay are solid, the story is heartwarming and the graphics and sound are unbelievably good for a platformer.

Definitely worth it at full price.

The DLC costs 3 times as much as the game. Aside from modern times, the dlc usually adds one or two buildings and maybe some useless decor for your avatar.

Unless it's on sale for 75% off don't bother. It's fun but it's not $5 per dlc fun. Wait for it to go on sale.

I really wish I could recommend this game. X3 is one of my favorite games ever made and I've sunk ungodly amounts of hours into its massive sandbox.

X:R is X3 with all the good parts taken out and all the bad parts made worse. I cannot comprehend how they systematically failed so badly to make an even passable game.
