Paradox have improved their attention to this game. There are glaring issues (the awful naval system, for example) and the launch is one of the worst I remember, but it's a solid enough game that will soak up the hours.

This game just makes you angry.

And if it felt functional, fair and balanced - it wouldn't.

There lies the problem.

Immensely addictive.

I first gave this a miss because of the turn based gameplay, hoping for a more Rise of Nations style RTS to come. What I didn't anticiapte is that it actually creates a more immersive and intense battle scene. No more will you simply throw divisions at the enemy - placement and tactics mean everything. This is an excellent gameplay model.

GTA Online has exposed Rockstar as a consumers worst enemy. Since release the price of in-game vehicles and properties have skyrocketed while the ability to make in game currency hasn't.

With the equivelant of $10,000,000 GTA being sold for more than the price of the game itself circa 2015, it's no wonder that people cheat - it prevents the game becoming an absolute chore.

The game has neither the infrastructure or the support to justify this kind of spending or hard work on the part of players.

It was a good game. Now I do not trust Rockstar as a publisher anymore.

Only because of it's recent lower price can I recommend this game. The price was far too high for a long time and Kalypso media need to cut it out.

Tropico 4 is an interesting city builder that really shines in its early stages, much like all city builders. It's character and these processes make the game worth it in itself.

Unfortunately, it suffers from a typical, rapid decline in things to do in the later game. You simply become too big, too well structured to fail. This is an issue that city builders should strive to overcome.

This is the most fluid gameplay the series has offered so far (and probably will offer). You're garunteed a solid 200 hours of gameplay if it pushes your buttons, which is its selling point and undeniable credit.

However, it's likely the worst written Metal Gear Solid game. It's story completely unravelled and series for me and exposed something very shallow.

Upon losing his franchise, Hideo Kojima burnt the village and salted the earth.

Early Access Review
I initially gave this game a bad review. I regret that now.

The time willingly put into playing this game makes up for the price paid. Therefor I know that players who enjoy constructing war machines of all kinds will enjoy this. So far the ship I've made floats and is agile after the second construction - that's more than can be said for the 20+ flight tests you go through on Kerbal Space Programme. It functions, and in that sense it isn't hard.

I simply wish the learning curve wasn't as steep in other ways. For example, I still don't really understand the mechanics behind custom cannons and other complexset-ups, even with tutorials. This could be on account of my own stupidity, but in a way I would prefer simpler options that produce the same results or at least a simple pictorial diagram of a simple, working set-up (like my dads old haynes manuals from the 90's - for the primitive man).

This game feels extremely impenetrable to the new player.

The community appears to be insular and, dare I say it, almost too organised. Playing this game is a lesson in confusion and alienation. You very quickly begin wondering what the point is.

Addictive gameplay centred around a loose plot and world that has a lot of heart and soul. I've enjoyed almost all my time playing this game, even if it's centred around what is quite literally a daily grind. This brought me back to a time when games for me weren't just about reaching the finish line, where imagination was key to becoming immersed in a world or narrative.

This game isn't for the straight forward box-ticker. The stand-out compositions, refreshingly positive though mature dialogue and art work make this game a real experience - one that you propel yourself through because you're constantly charmed.
